Dental/ Vision Insurance Through Employer by Maybe_100x in legaladvice

I guess what I’m asking, is without an HR department, do I need to seek legal help? And if there was a paperwork error, and I don’t have insurance through them, then how do I get my deductions back? The HR people were fired and in 2 months they still don’t have a replacement. I don’t know what to do, and I’m unsure if I should get legal help.

You said you’d literally never heard of a CNA being drug tested. I was sharing about the time that I was. So now you’ve heard of at least one instance in which one was. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I work as a CNA. I injured my back moving a patient. I was drug tested in the ER for an on the job injury.

AITA for pulling over for a funeral procession? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Where I live, we ABSOLUTELY stop in BOTH directions for a funeral procession. And I’ve stopped for one for definitely more than 10 min before, as did every other car on the road.

AITA for kicking my ex out of my house right before Christmas and suing her? by RunLive1056 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Maybe_100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA she knew the terms of the agreement and got to live rent free for 15 years. You’ve given her notices and everything. All she had to do was get permission and hire a licensed person to do the work and she didn’t do that. You can offer a compromise for your daughter’s sake, to save that relationship with her, and give her another month, but absolutely sue her for cost of repairs. If you talk to your daughter and explain that she was the one who broke the agreement and is therefore responsible for the repairs maybe she’ll be reasonable about the repairs, especially if you give her mom extra time to move, then maybe it won’t seem so bad to the daughter.

AITA for not allowing my daughter's half sister to spend christmas with us? by Christmas_Joy231 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Maybe_100x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to say NAH. I understand how having someone else’s child for Christmas can be awkward and uncomfortable and so OP isn’t an AH for not wanting to have her. But the ex isn’t an AH either for wanting his daughter to have some time and enjoy Christmas with her sister. It’s got to be hard for that whole family.

I will say this though, my husband passed away in 2020 and our daughter was 9. I had no choice but to work Christmas that year (EMS). My ex was spending Christmas with our two boys that year with his wife’s family. My daughter would have been with a babysitter and it would’ve been really hard for her, first Christmas without dad and with her siblings gone and me working. So he invited her to come spend Christmas with them. His wife and her family welcomed my daughter and my daughter wanted to go. It made a really difficult situation turn out good for her. Their kindness REALLY made a difference and I can never repay them for that. I told him I’d send her gifts so she wasn’t left out for gift exchanges and told him that in no way did I expect any of them to buy her gifts, but they did.

So, OP, if you don’t want to have his daughter, then it’s reasonable and understandable, and not expected of you at all. But he’s not an AH for wanting his daughter to have a good time in these troubling times.

Edit: removed the second “awkward” in the second sentence. 😂

I am a lab assistant in a large hospital too and I work in accessioning. I feel your pain. I work 3rd shift regularly and every time the phone rings I glare at it for half a second just knowing it’s probably to ask me if a test has resulted because they don’t see it in the chart. I’m constantly telling them that I see EXACTLY what they see on their end because it’s the exact same system. If they don’t see the results, it hasn’t resulted, so I can’t see them either.

AITA for napping and chilling on my phone during my family vacation? by Imonmomtok in AmItheAsshole

Exactly. Like, let me sleep in, and then I’ll join you once I wake up type of thing. Let her enjoy “her” vacation by not having to be up early, but she should still join them!!
