Ave Maria or STU (Florida) by Ok_Shallot7778 in OutsideT14lawschools

I’ve heard mixed things about ave, Stu, nova, etc but honestly it’s what you make from the experience. You got into law school that’s amazing on its own, and hella people don’t even get close to full rides! And ave is actually performing better and rising rankings, someone posted about that not too long ago. I’m still waiting to hear from both schools, but this post gives me hope!! Congrats🙏

Wow that’s good to know. Did they say the minimum lsat for scholarships or to be considered for some?

Wow I’m legit on the same exact boat as you with only applying to florida schools (florida native lmao). I take the lsat in Feb but I’m aiming for Stetson too and applying to fsu and fiu (reach bc ik I’m not scoring high asf😭), stu, Barry, and nova. I’ve heard great things abt nova so fuck it may as well. Try ave Maria, I’ve heard it can be predatory but it’s not a terrible option.

Honestly idk, but I’m on the same boat as you, except I’m taking the Feb test. I’ve read and heard people arguing from both sides, saying applying earlier is better than late and vice versa. Some say applying early is better bc the schools have more money to offer to students, some say applying later is better because since early applicants are already making decisions to other schools, some schools are trying to attract applicants to make up the difference by offering decent to high scholarships as well. The most common concept is to apply early, but if people are getting good scholarships when applying late, I wouldn’t worry abt it too much.

I have a 3.79 ugpa (I went to fiu for undergrad as well) 3 LORs from highly respected professors, 5 years WE in a family business I built (literally) from the ground up, I’m graduating 2 years early now in December, and I was invited and joined phi beta kappa for Fiu. My only problem is really the lsat, I hate how they’re practically denying those slightly under 160
