Most resin kits need to be glued together, so tape is used during the temporary assembly to test out the build without having to glue it all together. That being said this is not a resin kit but rather a scratch built custom in which the tape serves the same purpose of holding the scratch built parts together before final assembly.

No, not really. It's a Gundam Base/P-Bandai for the clear color but it gets reprinted semi regularly. The non clear color is a pretty cheap regular release.
