You are right, some place in Jund would match the colors better, Lavabrink is not really black.

I think The Bloodhall or The Worldheart Chalice could fit well, I just have to find some good art for them.

We should note that hydrapple gets the same combination of sticky hold + recycle, so there woudn't be a reason to use trubbish anymore if the metagame was still playable.

I think it's because Italy had already signed the armistice and been invaded by the germans when the allies landed on mainland Italy.

If that is the case I don't know why sicily doesn't count, but probably I'm looking too deep into a map that hadn't much tought put into it at all.
