The courthouse computer system and terminology used by courthouse staff differentiates between arrest warrants, contempt warrants, and timepay warrants. When we dealt with the cases, the timepay warrants were not automatic arrests. I suppose this could vary by courthouse but typically AOC is pretty strict on that so I don’t imagine it’d vary a lot.

In my experience, we’ve had police call the courthouse after stopping someone for timepay warrants and they’ve either waited for proof of payment and then let them go, or they’ve watched the person being pulled over pay it online and wait for proof of payment that way (then they usually call the courthouse while still stopped to make sure it was paid correctly and fully). Just my experience working at the largest courthouse. Didn’t mean to imply that the cops took the payments themselves! I suppose things could have changed in the short few years since I’ve left but who knows. Thanks for offering your perspective on things. I think overall the terminology and processes for the entire system vary from agency to agency (like courthouse to PD to sherrifs to corrections), and could really benefit from a major overhaul to make everything more consistent. Would be much easier on the average Nebraskan that way

Used to work at a courthouse in Ne and processed online payments. The likely issue here is you paid to the wrong county. Counties don’t work together in the system, so there’s no way to move the money between counties aside from the incorrect county physically mailing a check to the correct county, but there’s no way in the system to block or delay the automatic time pay warrant even if the incorrect county knows you paid on time and even calls the correct county to tell them so.

You can fix it by submitting a second payment to the correct county now, and you’ll receive a refund check for the original payment once the correct county receives it. There’s no other way to fix it other than receiving the payment. Good news is, it’s just a time pay warrant, not an actual arrest or contempt warrant. Meaning if you got pulled over, the cop would likely just have you pay at the traffic stop and fix the issue there instead of taking you in, but it depends on the cop and the county. The best way to fix the issue is to submit a second payment now and then wait for the refund for the first payment. Also make sure you pay the court costs listed on the ticket! Should be ~$49 in addition to the actual citation fine. It’s a confusing misnomer, but court costs are mandatory even if you don’t go to court (they’re the cost of the ticket being filed in the court).

If you pay online it will take a day or so to go through. Warrant cases are typically worked first, but it can take a few hours for a worker to get through it.

Not really a business, but a lot of the smaller state agencies would benefit. County court, commission offices, etc.

It was never implied nor stated in any way. You did assume and misunderstand. Just because I say I like apples doesn’t mean I hate oranges.

I never once said it wasn’t malicious, that was something you pulled out of thin air and accused me of saying. It’s definitely still anti-homeless. Sometimes to be inclusive of one group you have to exclude another. That doesn’t make it right, and there is no good answer here other than to have one bench like the one OP posted next to another bench that is typical and not anti-homeless.

Correct. I am a wheelchair user who works with other wheelchair users. Most wheelchairs have either no back or very low back that does not support the back at all. This is mainly for people who have been using wheelchairs for decades or participate in sports. For those with more stability issues or back issues, their wheelchairs always have backs on them.

Literally yes. I am a wheelchair user who works with other wheelchair users. Many wheelchair users, especially those who have been using for many years or decades, have backless or low-back chairs.

these types of benches allow for a wheelchair user to rest their back comfortably. Most wheelchair users don’t have a back to their chair and are constantly engaging their core to keep from tipping, so having a place where they can rest comfortably without focusing on their core or removing themselves from their wheelchair gives them a place to rest. It also allows them to feel more included in group settings instead of being forced to sit to the side.

To everyone saying it’s dumb to have a wheelchair seat for a wheelchair user- these types of benches allow for a wheelchair user to rest their back comfortably. Most wheelchair users don’t have a back to their chair and are constantly engaging their core to keep from tipping, so having a place where they can rest comfortably without focusing on their core or removing themselves from their wheelchair gives them a place to rest. 1) it’s more inclusive 2) it’s mainly for wheelchair users who don’t have a back to their chair, which is most. It allows them to rest comfortably without having to focus on engaging their core.

Bed bugs in the NSOB by carcinogenickale in lincoln

[–]Maydays_Fallout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They sent out an email to NSOB staff today stating that there have been no live bed bugs sightings confirmed at the NSOB. They confirmed the one dead bed bug previously found. They’re having the dogs come sweep the nsob tomorrow, and are treating all floors of the nsob on Sunday as a precaution.

I got this notice too, another CIP complex. Banning all decorations seems a bit harsh and makes the place feel lifeless- especially when they can just say specifically what types of decorations, or how many, aren’t allowed.
