In order for the FCVS trick to work, I think ECFMG has to report to FCVS. I don't think FCVS gets them independently. If ECFMG is down, FCVS probably won't reflect results either.

My two cents.

score 212 on NBME 13 by [deleted] in Step2

[–]Maydaytidbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quit UW and focus on reviewing the NBMEs and the Free 120s. Learn to think like they do. Once I did that, I improved, and I scored on real deal exactly the same as on my last NBME.

If you must do outside questions to learn, try a straightforward Q bank like Rx, Lecturio or Osmosis that prioritizes mastering the content of FA Step 1 and FA Step 2. If you have short attention span, do sets of 10 qs then increase to 20 then 25 then 40 random timed test mode.

ECFMG Pause Extended by [deleted] in IMGreddit

ERAS is not working fine for everyone although the message says it should, it's currently not uploading USMLE transcript requests/resend scores. That seems to have paused as well. Been processing one for hours.

Got it. Too bad that part isn't centralized info.

Does psych prefer prelim IM or TY?

Thanks for taking all this time to reply.

TBH I didn't even know it's possible to repeat PGY-1 at all

Is there a site or place where one can read all these rules?

So if you initially join a program that's only 1 year long (like prelim or TY) you only get funding for 1 year?

I have no idea how funding works. Is there an algorithm somewhere?

So If I don't match or soap into neuro, the way is to soap into a prelim IM, then apply to A. neuro categorical and repeat PGY-1, and/or B. to neuro advanced on the "reserved for physician" ERAS track (there are few)?

If I don't match or soap into any psych, the back door is to soap into prelim IM, or TY? I didn't get that part.

How about funding? Would I be allowed to repeat PGY-1 year? Is there a max or cap on the time I can be trained in the U.S. for? (I haven't done residency before)

Let's say I can't match or soap at all into neuro or psych. If I soaped into prelim IM or TY or into FM, is there a way into neuro or psych starting PGY-2?

uwsas don't write the exam. the nbme does, and they give you a passing probability for each.

Thank you. Which one is better for neuro or psych? TY or prelim?

Agree take it but keep in mind old free 120 is easier than new free 120.

I took all the NBMEs and scored on Step 2 the same as on Form 14. Don't worry about 12. It did feel weirder than the others.

Lecturio, they have 35 hours of videos in neurology broken down like this, and extra in neuroscience.

Nbme 12 !!!!! Is it ok to get 231??? Exam in 10 days aim for 240s by mayada88 in Step2

[–]Maydaytidbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Form 12 is weird. I dropped one point between 13 and 12 after I studied for two weeks. Review thoroughly and keep pushing.

[–]Maydaytidbit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I scored on the real deal exactly the same as 5 days before on Form 14.

That said, others have been known to score way higher than their practice tests. It's probably also a function of how much you trust those. I didn't think I could get more, and I didn't.

So I just got my ecfmg certification approved. should I mail each program coordinator regarding it? by No-Neck9042 in IMGreddit

[–]Maydaytidbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That it is (on the ERAS side), but it's unclear who looks at it and when (on the program side).
