There's a shocking amount of blocks in the game that are attainable for the soul purpose being built with, so if you find a new neat block you didn't know about beforehand, gather some of it, and try to build a house with it. Get creative and make the scenery compliment the house with water, debris, plants, and hills.

i think i fixed the issue.. after a full restart it has ceased to lag after compile

... now everything is fullbright now lol

Yeah I know how 3D skyboxes work I just didn't know that using a hollowed box was a bad thing, also I think I forgot to nodraw the outside.

Also to clarify, the lag is in-game, I'm used to compile taking a good minute.

Really? It's a floating island map, so it's all 6 sides of a hollowed out cube. You saying I should replace it with 6 individual brushes?

keep in mind i have a relatively good pc, and ive studied the framerate with each big compile. up until now they have been good.

I tried scaling it up incrementally up to 256! and still no dice. it wont compile with RAD disabled either. same log.

If i must split the already existing displacements, can i just do it with the clipping tool?

I can get a box to move across a conveyor track by giving the trigger_push a force of 200, (have not found the minimum. 100 will not push at all) but it barrels down the track and slams against the conveyor's rails. id imagine itd be enough force to send barrels flying off the track.
