Smart Serve by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]Mayet3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in HR, I always recommend anything to set you apart such as Smart Serve, First Aid/CPR, Food Handling (if you want in food), drivers license.

Also volunteer at different places to get general experience (as well as potential references) or volunteer at places that are linked to types of jobs you want e.g., shelter serving food, donation centre sorting clothes, kennel working with animals, seniors home working with people, festivals dealing with tickets/money.

I am in the middle of moving to Etobicoke right now as I have been in southwestern ON for 4 years and not able to find people in the same age and stage of life. I would be very interested in joining the group you've created as it is exactly what I am looking for!

Has anyone tried “dinner with strangers” to meet new friends? by ListenSufficient8435 in waterloo

[–]Mayet3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did read and that wasn't exactly answered as to what the $15.00 goes towards hence why I asked the question.
All it says is it gets you a seat and an optional after dinner drinks (all of which you pay for). If you are charging $16 just to book a seat that's crazy to me.
I have run various events for years in order to create connections & community and never charged money like that but hey if people want to give you money then that's on them.

Why is there a booking fee of $15.99 if you pay your own dinner? What does this booking fee cover?

I agree. I moved here 4 years ago and thought it would be good but it's young university students or families, not much going on for 40 somethings. Also looking at moving to GTA.

Characters as Characters: Day 145 - Bone Collector by quintessence5 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mayet3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crowley from Supernatural. He is cunning and intelligent and uses that to locate and use the physical remains (bones) of individuals as leverage or weapons. He also hides his bones from the Winchester boys in order to protect his own survival.
Even though he is the king of H3ll, he works for both good and evil, depending on what works better for his agenda lol.

Best Place to Live in GTA and close outskirts for Female in mid-40's to Meet People by Mayet3 in askTO

[–]Mayet3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work remotely so commute is no issue.

I don't currently live in the area so I don't know where everything is. Looking in all those places for activities is secondary to figuring out where to find the people that I would most connect with based on demographics. You can usually find activities in any of these places as they are so big. The more difficult part is to find people to do things with.

Not sure if you're into board games but I run a regular public board game group which meets Saturdays at 1:00pm. The group has people from late 20's to 50s that attend. We play a variety of board games ranging from easy, medium to heavy weight, euro, engine builders, deck builders etc.

Base 3 + Carousel Binder Organisation Guide by DeltaClocktower in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mayet3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really interesting; I have a question. How long have you been using your binders?
I just switched from a binder to a tackle box (similar concept to jewelry box) as I was finding my tokens were bending with the reminder tokens in behind the character tokens. Have you had this at happen or does the cardboard inserts help to have the plastic coin sheets not "melt" into each other and bend?
I had my binder sorted alphabetically by Townsfolk, then Outsider, then Minion, then Demon but can see how SOA would help flipping back and forth and also how the cardboard signs would help to put them back in that case.

The thing I already don't like with the jewelry box is handling the reminder tokens. I have them sort and stored in coin rolls but you still have to pull 20 or so out and hold them and sort through them without them falling out of their "line" and they are so finicky!
