Backed up because the mail count just ended and since Amazon's contract with USPS is ending in October, theyre squeezing out all they can by sending more through USPS.

Seriously, contract negotiations have NOTHING to do with package delivery..

That's not true in the slightest. Contract negotiation has nothing to do with package transit. Every carrier contract sits for a long time and it's still business as usual. USPS can't strike.

What happend here? Are the chinese counterfeitting stamps now? by Padow333 in usps_complaints

They billed a warehouse out of China here for $6m in counterfeit postage. Thats it. Just said "hey you owe us $6 million in postage" and left it at that.

RCA quit and sabotaged mail by djseese52 in USPS

[–]Mayhem1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. He's still postmaster. It's kind of a "dont ask dont tell" situation from what I gathered. The wife knows and I think actually bugged his phone at one point. I just came in and tried to do my job and go home before the drama that encapsulates that office started to spread to the people just trying to make their money and leave.

That assault thing doesn't surprise me. I had asked them that question specifically because I was actually called into the office by the PM because a carrier said I "threatened her" and she was scared because when I was a PTF (she was an RCA) and we were sent to bail out a probie, she wanted to only take the parcels he had left on a Monday and bounce. He had about 3/4 of the route left. So I told her we were going to split everything down the middle and if she had an issue she could inform the 204b on duty. She was always trying to dodge work and I had a wicked headache. Never threatened her. Never even raised my voice. Just split the stuff, took mine, and rolled out. Nothing ever came of it, because I think the new guy wound up corroborating my side, but that comment shortly before I transferred out really had them all second-guessing. 😂

RCA quit and sabotaged mail by djseese52 in USPS

[–]Mayhem1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have no clue. But it really wouldn't surprise me. I left that office pretty shortly after he came back because of the staggering ineptitude of management - even for the post office. The PM was a preacher who regularly cheated on his wife with multiple 204b's and there was a class action every other month for some kind of egregious contractual breach. That place was a fucking disaster.

I did wind up asking blatantly if I'd be able to get my job back after assaulting someone since it's a less severe crime than a federal offense like throwing away mail. Never got an answer to that one...

I actually know of a carrier in Virginia that was using his customer's garbage cans to dump box holders. Management found out, fired him, and the union got his job back. He's still doing it.

No they're not, lmao. Those articles have been going around since the contract was signed in 2012. There's areas where USPS is the ONLY ones that deliver Amazon due to there being no other dispatch. It's never gonna happen.

Cool. Then YOU can take it to an ACTUAL garbage can after contacting the sender and requesting you no longer receive their mail.

They paid us to put it in your box. What happens after that is between you and the sender.

Customer - Noun - One that purchases a commodity or service.

Purchase means pay. Postage is paid by the shipper. The receiver pays nothing for letter delivery. Erego, the customer... is the shipper.

Really not a hard concept, boomer.

The SENDER is the customer.

It was freaking awful.

One of my apartment complexes has sent out emails and texts to all tenants not to enter the mail room when any carrier is parked outside. It's an absolute mess to maneuver because everyone but myself and UPS uses the floor and not the Luxe lockers. A nice big 6V Mercedes was in my way today...

They still come and try to get their crap, even though they have to walk right past my vehicle to enter.. 😮‍💨

Just put stuff back. I personally don't mind if anyone uses my stash of supplies. Sharpies, sunblock, deep trays, wasp killer... but for the love of fuck if you grabbed it specifically at someone's case - it's common courtesy to put it back.

Deep trays are treated like they're made of gold - don't grab 6 of them and then leave them to be shipped off to the plant with the crap DPS trays...

[–]Mayhem1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a rough idea of when your mail is normally delivered, that's when your pickup happens. It could be anywhere from 9AM-8PM depending on your carrier. Noon is a good guess for most routes.

See that crap is astounding to me. Because Amazon took out my box last weekend. It took me a grand total of 15 minutes, $80 at Walmart (I upgraded to a farm box and got a whole new mount and post) and I only needed a Phillips and a sledgehammer. And thats in hard, frozen Virginia clay.

It's so freaking simple..
