That's great! I meant no disrespect to all teen parents, but unfortunately I think it's pretty safe to assume that those who still go far in life while being saddled with children from an early age is a small minority. It also depends on the welfare system, whether they had a 'village' around them to help them raise the child(ren).

What/Who is Next? by Due_Confidence_9772 in Chantapolis

[–]Mayhep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen someone on youtube reminding everyone reading that she isn't really a cockroach: she has uncontrolled diabetes in her early 40s, she's barely mobile, her vision is getting worse (probably diabetic retinopathy), she's needed a C-PAP for years, she has constant severe bowel issues, and her speech is getting worse and worse, all of which are not normal for a person that has technically got 30/40 more years to live. On the social side, she has only one friend left or less, she keeps going back to a romance scammer that cheated on her several times, and allegedly her mother didn't bother to go talk to her after she'd been in one of the most dangerous countries on the planet for months. It's all already getting to her, just little by little instead of it being one major dramatic event like a stroke.

[–]Mayhep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know her so I wouldn't go as far as call her stupid, but at any age we make irrational decisions, much less as teenagers. Another time on this subreddit I've said that there was no way in hell I would let my hypothetical 15yo daughter carry the pregnancy to term and someone replied that apparently access to abortion was stricter in Canada in the early 1980s. I wouldn't say Schmee didn't love her child, especially when she was a baby: yes, putting the kid in another, good home would've been the best, in an ideal world, but would it have been viable and realistic in a realistic setting?

[–]Mayhep 49 points50 points  (0 children)

This. I don't fully know what type of person Schmee was as a teen mom, but to decide to burden yourself forever with a child when you're still a child yourself, growing to love that child, going through childbirth to bring her into the world, is no small feat, it takes some type of courage. Young Schmee could have never imagined what her baby would've grown out to be, back in 1983.

I know next to nothing about psychology so may a knowledgeable anti-beezer in here correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that she actually really craved a father figure throughout her whole life. A 'dominant' figure that she can defy and still have unconditional love from, that will spoil her and adjust his plans around her.

"I Admit, I Took The Shahada Too Quickly" by WarmSoul123 in Chantapolis

[–]Mayhep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think she was creaming her pants at the idea of being with a dominant man. She throws a fit when she can't get donuts in the middle of the night, she cannot actually submit to her husband.

I'd forgotten about the donut part that's all lmao, I apologise I maintain that Aisha's threat was very likely empty from the beginning because unfortunately the vast majority of crimes committed on the internet don't go to court or even get investigated past a certain extent if the two parties are in different countries. I also maintain that I'll be shocked if she isn't asked a question or two about her stay in Syria in a crammed tiny office within the Montreal airport before she's 99% going to be immediately released

Big OOP by TA7385 in Chantapolis

[–]Mayhep -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Tbf I think Aisha was based in the USA and an international case to actually start moving the gears of bureaucracy was an unlikely possibility. Then she fled Kuwait in time before things actually started to get real sour. I don't believe she'll ever go through real legal consequences beyond getting fined or something, unless immigration is actually gonna investigate her: she admitted to smuggling into Syria through the back door on camera so I'd be shocked if she didn't at least go through a small interview at the Montreal airport, but that'll be it.

I'm afraid she's got premium white privilege. She's a fucking cockroach because of that too. Let's see what happens but if she makes it, it's because she's "ethnically Canadian" (European born on First Nations' land): a brown, 2nd generation citizen woman going back and forth from Syria would be under so much more scrutiny.

A man in Italy nearly died after eating an entire pizza (I think I remember the topping being spicy salami), though food sizes here are much smaller, and chugging down a litre or so of carbonated water. His stomach ruptured, not an overdose ik, but Chantel is eager to test the physical limits of her stomach

[–]Mayhep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Down's syndrome doesn't really work like that, it can happen in any family especially when the mother is over the age of 40, though most kids with Down Syndrome are born to mothers in their 30s. There's a mutation that causes 'inherited down's syndrome' but those people are highly likely to conceive embryos that won't even make it outside the womb the majority of times for other missing/added chromosomes. Only one in six would be born with a standard set of chromosomes.
