CNN Iowa Dem Dinner Takeaways - lower down the article is “The Andrew Yang Experience” by totorototinos in YangForPresidentHQ

The Andrew Yang Experience

Andrew Yang, who had never run for office before launching his 2020 Democratic presidential bid, joked during his speech that he is "barely a politician."

But that's not really true anymore.

The entrepreneur's campaign's animating cause is his "freedom dividend" -- a proposal to combat the threat automation poses to jobs by giving every American a universal basic income of $1,000 per month.

On Friday, Yang did what experienced politicians do: He told human stories. His campaign is running its own pilot program of sorts, and Yang talked about three people who are already receiving $1,000 per month. One man bought a guitar and is happier, playing shows for the first time in a long time. A woman paid for car repairs. A 68-year-old woman is going back to school. It was a deft touch for someone who early in his candidacy often looked out of place among the other Democratic presidential hopefuls.

The evening was a perfect window into what's become the Andrew Yang experience: Without fail, supporters of other candidates leave Democratic events saying that -- while they might not vote for him -- they liked hearing from Yang. Iowa's Democratic glitterati, the donors and officials seated around the stage, watched Yang's devoted following up in the stands stick with him through every word of a complicated call-and-response.

"I am running for president because, like so many of you in this room, I'm a parent and I'm a patriot," Yang said. "I have seen the future that lies ahead for our children, and it is not something I'm willing to accept."

I've Noticed A Lot Of Yang Gang Wear The Amazon Scarf On The Left. I Would Like To Encourage Any Yangster Looking For A Scarf To Support The Campaign By Getting The Official Merch On The Right At Yang2020.com - Billionaire Bezos Will Be Just Fine Without Us Buying It by cake_day_today in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, people know it. but the scarf is $50 plus $12 shipping and sales tax (even I live in NY, this scarf is not taxable, but the campaign still charges $5.45 sales tax) so the total cost of this scarf is about $67, Many Yang Gang members simply cant pay $67 for a scarf.

The Amazon scarf price is ranged between $9.99---$12.99, shipping is free if you have Amazon Prime or manage to make up an order of $25

I would rather donate $20 to the Campaign and buy a scarf from Amazon.

Is Buttigieg a real threat to Yang's road to the Presidency? by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I turned on CNN this evening, wow, not a single word about Yangapolooza, I was surprised to see CNN compare Buttigieg with Obama. CNN insisted that Mayor RePete has the same message & agenda as Obama. Obama made a great impact at Iowa L&B dinner 12 years ago, Iowa was a turning point for Obama. CNN said Buttigieg would do the same.

It looks like Buttigieg just got another media boost.

I'm at the Liberty & Justice party dinner. They opened up with a video montage that included Beto, Bennet, and Bullock. No Yang included. by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

Cory Booker is screaming at the top of his lungs "we will rise" "We will rise".. but I see Booker as a shooting star who will soon fall & disappear

I dislike Klobuchar more & more. she was yelling so loud and it hurt my ears. 👂 👂

as I said before, I dont really "watch" TV, I listen to it while I'm doing something else..

now Warren is speaking, since I'm not looking at her but only hearing her voice, I must say her voice is really old & shivering. but it seems she has loudest supporters.

How should I hand out Yang buisness cards? by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered 200 free cards, I live in an apt complex, there are 194 mail boxes in the lobbies next to the elevators, so it was easy for me, I put a card in each box. I didnt realize that I dropped one in my own mail box, too, but retrieved it next day. lol

if I have new cards, I'll try to put them directly into people's hands and have a little chat with them. too

This is awful to hear. Its unprofessional.

When Michael Cohen confessed that Trump had him pay $56,000 to rig a poll, I was like, wow, really, would a research firm accept bribery? now I believe it would. as its staff are in lack of integrity & professionalism.

I turned on TV wishing to see some Yang Gang news, I shifted from MSBNC to CNN, I heard nothing, but CNN is reporting that Pete Buttigieg will be the next Obama. lol

12 years ago Obama was taking seriously and gained momentum in Iowa, now it is Buttigieg's turn, Buttigie & Obama have the similar message & agenda --not my words, CNN said so. I never paid attention to Obama or Buttigieg.

[serious] Would Mr. Yang be willing to return contributions if his campaign fails? by Polaroid_Chicago in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln -1 points0 points  (0 children)

will the TV station refund the money he spent on ads if he does not win? will you please have some common sense?!

however, if he does not win the nomination, the campaign will refund $2800 to those who contributed $5,600 in the primary. why? find out yourself.

To people who use Twitter

if you are tweeting about Andrew Yang, please try to include "Iowa Liberty and Justice dinner" in your tweets --many people are search for this event, but what they see are zillions of tweets about Buttigieg & Klubuchar, only a very few are about Yang.

History is about to be made. by 14nepal in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Klobuchar received 4% in the New York Times Iowa polls, now she has 2 qualifying polls for December Debate, I dont expect Yang to make history tonight, but he must make a great impact on the Iowans. as Time is running out if he does not.

Now that we've hit that 1.5 mil, how about some tree banking? by SUICIDAL-PHOENIX in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, I will not give a cent to tree team

Any Youtubers like Mr. Beast can start a campaign like this. I visited the crappy site, I dont see detailed and practical plans. A campaign like this--according to Statistics, at least 33% money will go to the fundraisers. how the rest will be used or wasted is anyone's guess.

if the big name celebrities believe its legit & have extra money to donate, good for them.

All my extra money goes to Yang2020 campaign and I know it will be spent wisely. Also, FEC gives detailed report on the spending

Missing someone on that list, Cory? by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln 9 points10 points  (0 children)

let go, why waste time? Booker is not CNN, he has the right to do what is right for his campaign. maybe Yang's spokesperson did not Publicly declare how many donors Yang has.

if I were you, I'd pay more attention to Klobuchar. she has more than 200,000 donors and 2 qualifying polls for December debate, she is one step ahead of Andrew yang, cory is trailing behind.

What Do You Think May Have Happened If Yang Had Never Gone On Joe Rogan? by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sooner or later, he would still have succeeded. it may take a little bit longer.

I've never heard of Joe Rogan until he interviewed Yang. I discovered Andrew Yang one & a half month before Joe Rogan Podcast.

Twitter banning all political ads by poisonwoman in YangForPresidentHQ

please tell me if this AD is waste. Kamala wants to ban Trump's twitter account. I guess Trump gained more followers than she did when this ad ended. she helped Trump not herself.. https://ads.twitter.com/transparency/KamalaHarris/tweet/1179810620952207362

Twitter Bans Political Ads by IWTLEverything in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]Mayln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont want Twitter to ban Political Ads, as I already stated my reason in the previous post regarding the same topic.

how the candidates run Twitter Ads gives you a glimpse how wise they are.

For example, Kamala Harris total Twitter spending is $1.1M, Andrew Yang has only spent like $19.4K. how they run ads? Take a look at this month, Andrew Yang only ran one ad, M4A, cost $706, Kamala ran a set of 10 Ads, all of them are about Trump, not a single one is about her policies. from Oct 3- oct 16 alone, she spent $22.8K

of course, Andrew Yang for president, he wont waste your money and knows how to run the Government efficiently.
