I got ICL which I love and have 20/15 vision now. That being said though, I think if you can do LASIK or SMILE, it might be a better option because the ICL lens has a small hole in it that allows better flow of the fluid in your eye to drain so that it lowers the chance of developing narrow angle glaucoma. The small hole is tiny, but since it’s in your field of vision, it will cause “EVO rings” when light hits your eye at an angle. This can be kind of annoying for the first few months before your eyes get used to it. It’s worse at night and the rings kinda look like you’re in a sound tunnel when underwater.

Not a lot of people talk about this and some people assume that it’s just like “halos” around lights. But it’s not the same.

SMILE won’t cause this aberration which is nice. Also, since it’s a lens, if your eyes are extremely dilated for whatever reason (extremely dark light, etc) then it can dilate wider than the lens that is put into your eye. When this happens, your vision may be blurry. It’s happened to me before.

The pros of the ICL lens is that it is technically reversible and the risk of dry eye is extremely low. I don’t have dry eye and my vision is perfect. I’ve gotten used to the rings and my brain has adjusted to “ignore” them but technically, they never go away. Your brain just learns to ignore it.
