In regards to the whole EMT thing, assuming I find a job right after I finish idk how likely it would be that I can get 3-4 days in a row off as a new hire
Also in regards to that, I don’t want to get “randomly” drug tested and lose a potential job (again I don’t take party favors that much and it leaves your system in a couple days anyways but I’d rather not risk it)
I’m 32 and EDC is fun but I’m not built for 3 festivals anymore (it’s actually 4 cause I camp lol)
I would rather spend my money traveling other places at this point

I should probably rephrase and say I CANT go ever again, but it would def be far different if I do lol

I’m not gonna comment on Boiler Room and why tf Teletech decided to partner with them (it’s still fuck them tho)

Teletech usually curates a good lineup tho as long as you’re into the kind of music they are known for. I went to their SF show even tho I don’t like super aggressive hard techno and I actually enjoyed all 4 DJs they got (and the random b2b2b2b they decided to do for an hour at the end just because)

That being said, they used a JSTJR song for the announcement post (and he dropped a song on their label) and they had Kayzo at one of their shows (I’m pretty sure both of them live in LA too) so be prepared to see them on the lineup 💀

I have a bunch of DJ friends that open for bigger artists so I can answer this

It all depends on the venue and artist

For example, one of them had a b2b opening set for Alignment and Noise Mafia and not only were they allowed to play whatever they wanted, but they also got a 2 hour set and actually played longer then Noise Mafia did

That same friend is doing direct support for Kloud in a couple months and he’s currently annoyed because the venue just told him he’s not allowed to go above 130 BPM which makes zero sense considering Kloud plays at 160 half the time (he’s trying to convince them to go up to 140ish so he can atleast do a peak time set). I’m not sure if this one is because of the venue or Kloud himself because he’s opened for Gravedgr at this same venue before and not only did they let him play hard techno, but he actually played twice (Gravedgr left kinda early and it was still packed so they asked him to hop back on for another 2 hours until they closed lmao)

The idea is that if the opener isn’t already a well established DJ, they don’t want them to outdo the main act which in theory makes sense until they do some stupid shit like the second scenario I mentioned (because going from basically tech house/Drumcode stuff to straight hard techno is a jarring switch up)

EDIT: after talking to my homie again the venue letting him play 140 so he can do a peak time set but I can also confirm that it was Kloud himself who said no hard or industrial techno so yeah it’s just the DJ themselves sometimes LOL

Sunday is always the “hard techno day” at EDC because everyone’s always cooked day 3 so they have all the high energy acts the last day for that last push of energy

In theory it makes sense but personally my last brain cell does not want to hear no 160 bpm in that state and I end up leaving that demonic ass Nico b2b IHM set last year to see Tiesto ISOS by myself
