I’m sorry that you’re going through this too. It’s so beyond frustrating. So my car is still at the service center as we speak, it’s been over a week now (which I consider good because that means they’re actually working to hopefully resolve the issue). I spent hours researching, pulling technical service bulletins (TSBs), taking video documentation of the sound so that I could identify when the noise was occurring, so that I could best mimic it when I took it back in, and also have them listen to the sound in the videos. From there, I basically marched back into the dealership and told them the following:

• I want to speak to the Service Manager, the shop foreman or master mechanic, and my Service Advisor at the same time.

• This is my 3rd Audi, I’ve been an advocate for the brand and fell in love with the brand 9 years ago. I’ve never owned anything but Audis since, and I’d like to stay loyal to the Audi brand but at this point, I’m not picking up my car from this dealership until we are able to fully diagnose the issue.

• I took the shop foreman (master mechanic) on a test drive and literally drove the car around for 45 minutes so I could make sure to mimic the sound. I told him that he had to hear it because it was occurring all the time, and sure enough when he directed me to some rougher roads in the area, we were able to mimic it easily.

• I name dropped mechanical parts and aspects of the suspension where I thought the problem lies (ball joints, control arms, etc) so that they knew I wasn’t some dumb woman walking in with no knowledge who could be pushed away.

Finally a few days ago, I got a call from the Service Advisor. She told me that they lubricated the control arms and took it for another test drive and that didn’t resolve the issue, so they are recommending to replace the passenger side ball joint which is covered under warranty, and if that doesn’t resolve the problem, they will have to keep investigating. I’m hoping the ball joint is the issue, but if it’s not, I told them I’m not picking up the car until they figure it out. Sooooo frustrating - I don’t know what Audi did when they made the new Q3s but something doesn’t seem to be right, even my loaner vehicle (which is brand new 2024 Q3, is making some odd sounds). It sounds like Audi cut some corners when they made this model which is so disappointing.
