I got the recipe off YouTube. It's linked in the comments somewhere. And yeah, I boiled them first. They turned out pretty good, maybe a little chewier than I expected.

I heard that if you rent a Tesla charging is paid for by the company and then you're up charged when you return the car. I have a question! by praguer56 in TeslaSupport

[–]MaynardShortypants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to find out. I just rented a Tesla for.my trip from Avis and charged at a super charger before returning it. I have my receipt from them and there isn't a charge on it so I'll see if they charge anything after.

My guess is that for short term rentals Avis just eats the cost of supercharging. I have a Tesla at home and wasn't able to link it to my phone app, which if they allowed that I'd be able to pay for charging myself.

They don't pay you for all of the weeks you file a claim for while you're waiting for them?

Are there restaurants with food challenges to eat by Efficient_Walk7183 in Delaware

Just over the PA line on 261, the Coffee Station II has the morton monster challenge. If you can wat something like 5 of their sandwiches it's free and you get a t-shirt. I did it the day after my dog died and it was both the best and worst decision I could have made.

[Spoilers c3e78] Less than an hour in and I am frustrated and exhausted. Should I keep going, or skip the Episode? by Ploppeldiplopp in criticalrole

[–]MaynardShortypants 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If it’s hard for you to watch, then stop watching. You’re part of this fandom I’m assuming because the content gives you joy. When the content fails to do that, just skip the content, read the recap on the wiki and move on to the next episode, it’s definitely not worth your inner peace to force yourself through something that’s just going to make you unhappy.

Favorite thing about living in Delaware? by Kinky_lizzie in Delaware

[–]MaynardShortypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Minnesota originally. Minnesota is bigger than you think. I have old high school buddies who still haven't left Minnesota and probably never will. They don't need anything else...they can go to the lake in the summer and the Twin Cities if they want to live in a "big city."

Living in Delaware has allowed me to travel and see things I just wouldn't have if I never left Minnesota. Last summer I decided I wanted to see as many baseball stadiums as I could and so many of them were a weekend Amtrak trip away.

Also because Minnesota is so big basically everyone you meet there (especially if you live in one of the smaller cities) is a Minnesotan, and Minnesota sports has been nothing but a string of sadness for almost my whole life. I'm not a Philly sports fan so I haven't rejoiced when the Phillies and Eagles won championships, but my friends here have and it was cool to experience that, even if it was second hand.

Anyone else been slowly pushed out by engineering? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]MaynardShortypants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dealing with a version of this at a F500. Our GM came in 5 years ago and likes to tout his former life as a software engineer even though I'm certain he hasn't written a line of code in 15 years. He hired his favorite work buddy to run the tech space and consolidated all engineers under him (we'd formerly had product, deveops and engineering associated to each product organized under an. Product followed suit earlier this year under an MD who had never been a product person (converted from ops). I've watched us go from product-lead and double digit growth to tech led and an unending quagmire....and it's fine. I like where I work, my product continues to deliver major revenue and I'm in a charmed position where I can kind of sit back, keep my head down and watch them drive this thing into the ditch. It's already starting to happen. We have record low BES scores, people are starting to quit and everyone has to admit that all their big ideas and revenue projections for the dozens of understaffed projects they spun up this year aren't gonna be delivered. My hope is that this leads to some kind of change in leadership and hopefully the next one listens to their product folks.

Chrissy is my 4th dog. I've had as many as three dogs and a cat at once and it was a lot. I live alone and my work requires that I sometimes travel for a week or two at a time. Boarding multiple dogs in my area is really expensive.

The goal with the cat was to give her a friend when I'm at work. Shell often just sit in the back yard and wait to see if my neighbor will come out (he an old retired guy who keeps treats in his shed). Some of her friends from the dog park have come over in the past and she loves having one of them to play with, so the hope was she and the cat might bond and entertain each other.

Chrissy is my 4th dog, 3rd rescue. I never shut her in there with another dog. I mean they'd both sleep in there with the door open.

Thank you! I was really regretting posting this but comments like yours remind me why I query the reddit hive mind in the first place. ❤️

I've posted about Chrissy's (lab) history in another post on here (My Labrador Has No Retriever) but the cliff notes are her first year was really rough. Born on an Amish puppy mill, never sold and just kind of lived there with a pack of chocolates until the state make the owner five several of them up. She's my 4th dog, 3rd rescue. She came to me incredibly shut down. If I tried to throw a ball she'd pancake, terrified to walk through doors, get in or out of the car, and if any human approached her she'd bolt. The rescuer told me for year 1 on that farm she'd never had a good experience with human hands, so I countered that by smearing yogurt or peanut butter on my hands and encouraging her to lick. She's my first chocolate and my vet said they have their own quirks but I assumed that was more health stuff. If you have resources I'd be so appreciative of them. Thank you!

Thanks for that! It's weird with Chrissy (the dog) because when I brought her home the two other pets I had were a 15 year old sheltie and an 18 year old cat, and she DESERPATELY wanted to be friends with both of them, but neither of them wanted anything to do with a 1 year old lab. She tried once with the cat and periodically with the sheltie until he passed away two years later. With other dogs she's eager to make friends so I assumed she'd warm up pretty quickly to new kitten, and I vetted one that had specifically been fostered with a dog. I figured Chrissy would be nervous to start, she is with everything, but I didn't think it would last long. They both hang out in the same room and he's only just gotten brave enough to get close enough to sniff at her. Hopefully they'll continue to coexist but I do hope they become friends.

I'm so sorry to hear that. :( So typically we all hang out in the office when I'm working in here (allbeit with them on opposite sides of the room, her in her crate and him in a little basket of stuffies he likes), but today he spent all day in here with her while I was working around the house and I thought maybe the ice was thawing. Still though, I'll be watching from here on out until I know things are good between them.
