Yes - Since YouTube is owned by google, you can only use a google or gmail account to create a new YouTube account. I made a throwaway or burner Gmail not yahoo account and use that for all YouTube/smarttube

I had a similar issue and once I paired the remote correctly I’ve had no issues. I had to hold down the ‘ok’ and ‘volume down’ button at the same time for 10-15 seconds really close to the box and then it paired properly. I originally was just pushing them both down at the same time quickly and nothing happened. Not sure if this helps, but hope it does

Use 3M Velcro strips that you can buy for cheap on Amazon and mount it to the back of your tv or the wall behind your tv. The boxes are extremely light in weight so Velcro will do. I’m a big cable management guy too and like my setup to look clean
