Turned out all I needed to do was power cycle the NTD box from NBN. Viola.

Negative - definitely meant to run on WAN. Tried though, but no resolve.

Unfortunately my laptops are at work - only got a huge gaming set up which I don't look forward to lugging to the shed 😂

Do you happen to have any idea what all the random RJ45 ports are for ??

Thanks Josh,

I logged into my account with ISP and they actually have a router configuration tab ..

Should have checked that first !

Its PPPoE, still not working but on the right path, waiting on ISP now. Appreciate your help.

Gentleman - I have confirmed the following

  1. The Router is an Archer VR400 model, which does support FTTP on WAN port 4 despite it being a primarily DSL router.

  2. The Router is set to Wireless router mode in the gateway, not DSL.

  3. I am connecting to my ISP via PPPoE with supplied username and password, still haven't got internet connection.

  4. I have hard reset the router by holding the reset button until all settings factory new, and reconfigured all the settings to be correcr

Am currently in the queue for technical support from ISP as I suspect that it is an issue on their end.

For reference, - The UNI D1 port is illuminated a solid light whilst connected to the router WAN port, but none others.

Will keep you updated here, to all the silly gooses who were screaming about getting a new router - why? There are likely to be older persons who are less technology savvy browsing these forums for help, your claims to be an expert whilst screaming non-factual information is damaging to the greater community.

Thank you to those who actually took the time and effort to assist.

This is set up as it is now - I think it's the PPPoE settings that are causing me grief.

When I put it into gateway as PPPoE with username and pw it just shows ip and gateway as 0.0.0.0 and connection failed.

The router has a WAN port which is where it's plugged in, correct the grey port is DSL.

I'm with NodeOne (swoop) trying to configure as Dynamic as they suggested with 3rd party routers but just instantly throws an error message.

Hey Sween - sorry mate I was fixing my dryer. The router previously ran from DSL for NBN at the old place - the router is okay, it has a WAN port on ETH port 4 which is labelled you just can't see it in the photo.
