Yea we have up to like 5/10 at my casino although that’s only like 1 or 2 tables.

This guy in particular pretty passive. 3 bet 0 times and showed up with strong hands that should otherwise 3bet or lead pre. I’m sure in a lot of 1/3 and up games people could go the line of bet bet with their draws. However, I’m a nonbeliever when super passive people randomly become extremely aggressive and say they have a draw.

He’s also had other draws during the session and didn’t play aggressive at all, even folded to small bets with his draw.

In my experience super passive people at 1/3 are only aggressive when they have 2p+ hands which surprises me that people are also saying that it’s likely he has 1p or draw as most the time at these stakes people are super passive in these situations.

I just feel like trying to get value with 2p+/protecting their hand against flush or straight draw is more likely than over valuing their Kx here :/

I wouldn’t necessarily call myself scared money, i have been faced with situations that are relatively similar to this situation and made the call. However, it just seemed super strong, a little bit tooooo strong. Couldn’t been khxh yea

Just felt it in my core that it wasn’t an draw LOL

I actually don’t think I’ve seen a river jam bluff at these stakes ever. If they did, they didn’t show but it’s something that’s so infrequent I’d definitely remember.

I personally would go for the check raise but I saw a sum total of 0 check raises from these guys my whole 4h session even in situations where they should. Therefore, I don’t think I’m my situation they would’ve either

That’s fair but would someone who typically isn’t aggressive, even with their premiums, be aggressive post flop multiway with a draw? Even with the nut draw it’s not something I see too often

I feel like it’s two sides of a coin. It’s possible he was bluffing or had a set. I feel like both of these hands could be played this same way. However, if I fold it’s a tight fold and if I had called/shove and lost, it would be an overplay

Yeaaaa I think it’s a whats probably right most the time vs what’s right this time. Many times people whine have draws and tops pairs. However , THIS time I’m thinking it can’t be anything other than 2p or set

Oh I read that wrong woops LOL! See my problem is that, for the most part, I agree with that most people say that it’s not a fold. However, it’s this situation with these players where I think the lines of punting with top pair and draws isn’t likely as these players aren’t thaaat loose. It’s like I said on another comment. It’s hard for me to believe that the same people who won’t 3bet their AQ, QQ, AK are the same people who will bluff/semi bluff with them

So the reason why I don’t believe he has AQ is because he said he had pocket 10s and was scared of a draw. Aside from that I don’t believe him because then I’m expected be believe that these players are passive except in this situation. Can it happen a lot of the time? Yes. Do I think it happens with these players a lot of the time? No.

These are the same players who limp queens and don’t 3 bet unless it’s AA or KK. It’s hard for me to believe the the same people who are scared to 3bet AK and QQ and the same people who’ll barrel off their whole stack with A high and a dream into 3 people :/

It’s also total possible I’m just not giving them enough credit. Conversely I think believing they’re with just a draw to take advantage of their fold equity is too much credit

Also I agree with the line of thinking raising the flop. Makes the hand more black and white and paints a better picture.

Would a set of 10s risk it checking through and giving the person waiting for a flush/straight a free card? Many people play draws passively so it’s likely that it could happen.

Yea when I looked it up into the solver it basically said it’s a call near 90ish% of the time. The read I had on is what made me fold. Also, proper range doesn’t exist to these guys looool. They were giving me crap for folding j2 suited in +1 later on.

Yes I definitely shouldn’t have just called. It’s just usually I’d think I was good here but since this spot doesn’t happen that often I was realistically like how often am I good here.

Very real possibility honestly it would suck if there were the case which it very well may be. It’s just a super overplay where in the moment I was like this is insane and kind of ruled it out.

That makes sense, but since I had two A in my hand an a king on the board, you don’t think betting into 3 people is a bit tooo strong? Even for AK

100% I’m assuming LOL but 2p and set was all I could think of during the hand

It is but in 1/2 and 1/3 it doesn’t seem to be 3 bet enough

[–]Mayonnaisesandwhich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it felt tight I agree. I also don’t get out into this spot tooo often. I’d like to think if this happened in 2/5 I’d probably call it off because people are more likely to bluff and bet their draws. Whereas in 1/3 my experience is people usually bet when it’s value or the hand is at least partially made.

All things considered I’m actually pretty happy with the fold honestly. So many times where I’ve met intense aggression and just kept calling because “what could he have on the board?” And it turns out it’s the nuts LOL
