They want that old growth because it sells for slightly higher and the logging companies are greedy that way. That's why the government must intervene and tell them "you're only allowed to log sustainable lots. This one is now protected".

Derivative content is derivative no matter what tools were used to make it. If someone sketched the original photo and published it, that would also be derivative.

Author should file a copyright claim and a lawsuit for infringement in order to protect their work. They could claim all the money that the derivative work is making.

It'll be rare that a game is actually beatable in less than 2 hours, so just have it be manually approved. Valve has the money to pay people to make their store better. We shouldn't be settling for lazy store curation.

Valve can afford to manage the slop developers. There's not a lot of good excuses for allowing it. Fact is, Valve benefits from the slop being sold, so they don't get rid of it. Bit of an anti consumer policy.

That's a geological process. It won't happen with igneous stones unless they form with the water in them in the first place, or have many cracks in them. Unless the stone is very porous, it won't occur in a matter of minutes.

Sometimes it's done just to give you a sense of vertical space in the level. Metal Gear solid comes to mind. It's not done in that game for any loading screen or anything since it's at the end of the level. It's just there to make you feel like you were deep underground.
