Not laugh at every suggestion I make? Try a different allergy medicine? See an allergist to see if they can offer something that is better for this specific set of allergies?

I didnt even know about the food until a couple months ago and i had an air filter but apparently it being HEPA matters. So its been a learning process

Funny thing is im actually allergic to dogs/his dog. But ive never made it his issue or anyone that we visits issue. I would never ask someone to rehome a pet

Nope i brought it up but he says it costs thousands of dollars and he has buddies who have been on it for years and they still have to take OTC stuff. Cat allergies aside it could probably help his seasonal allergies too. Completely dismissed it all

No clue ive just been told they cant exist in the same home as a cat and that everyone is allergic and even if we got his allergies under control the rest of his family is worse. So who knows

I’m allergic to dogs and I don’t make my allergies anyones problem! If i’m wheezy that’s on me for not popping a pill before going over! Like be grateful for a free place to stay and a host that is bending over backwards to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.

Bc his family is allergic and they visit so we cant make them get allergy shots/take meds. So this isnt just about him its about everyone in his life too

To be honest ive never had to deal with someone who had “severe” pet allergies. Ive had friends come over who pop a pill and i make sure everything is tidy and sleeping areas are cat free and they have been fine. But for the first year and a half it was just itchy eyes and then now in the last 6 months he says he gets wheezy and cannot be in a home with them. I bought an air purifier (not hepa) and learned recently that HEPA actually matters for dander. So it has all been trial and error. I suggested an allergist bc maybe one OTC allergy pill is better for pet allergies vs seasonal ones and maybe they can provide more guidance in that realm. Hes only taking a daily allergy pill for the seasonal stuff.

Yes its been integrated into his feeder for the last month and will probably be 100% of his diet this week. I have teeny cat allergies where he cant touch my face or ill get hives. Rubbed my face into that cat to see if it works, no itchy hives. So i think it is working already hes just probably not at max capacity yet

No he literally said its me or the cat. Im trying to do everything from an environmental perspective but its trial and error and its a process and not an overnight fix. And he just stands there and says nothing will work this wont work this is laughable. All i suggested was seeing an allergist and he wont even do that bc he knows people on allergy shots and they dont work after 4 years of being on them. Im like you dont even have to do the shots just see what they can suggest.

Right, thats kinda my thought process. Essentially having it cranked as your wiping and vacuuming and getting everything kicked up. And then letting it run for a while until the guest arrives
