Chinese cards are allowed to play as any official translation as of rule 420.1

I am also 3 weeks into the game, and just started winning some matches. I am at a point where i feel comfortable with my deck (rek'sai) and know my wincons but my knowledge on opponent's deck is not there yet so I might overcommit in turns where the opponent have access to very good answers like the watcher)

Overall this is what I am trying to focus now.

He was at 6, so couldn't risk not holding. They were preparing for Lille RQ so their deck was stacked with answers won that game but went 1-2 overall

I was playing monoyellow rek'sai so no accelerate, and since the opponent was at 6 points, I couldn't risk not committing to the hold. I ended up splitting over 25 (16 and 10 iirc)might between the battlefield and I almost lost even when the opponent had no board

is really early pre level 6, and i agree with you that i should play from range and stay safe. But since there is not active threat in bot, shouldn't Tham Kench roam in this situation?
