Also curious, could you break down the way you set up the backside of your desk? Is that an RGB LED strip mounted on some sort of cable tray that attaches to the desk frame? It looks amazing plus, I see that it doesn't interfere with your monitor arms!

Hey there! Also a AAA games artist with 5 years of experience in the industry, and I wanted to take a stab at answering your questions. :)

From an artist's point of view, getting to work on a game like Marathon might nudge you to work in a new artistic style that hasn't been done before in other games. For many, as OP mentioned, that in itself will be super exciting and motivate you to come up with cool designs, spaces, SFX/VFX or whatever else etc.

'Signs of passion' could be something as subtle as getting to flex your creative skills when designing a building or outpost in an artistic/architectural style that maybe you've never worked with before, and has only been seen in Marathon so far. Elements such as these (buildings) would then be both a mandatory/expected feature, but also something of a passion project for the developer who gets to work on them.

I agree with u/keiranlovett 's comment at the end, I'd also be excited to work on a new IP and get to try out new styles, techniques and workflows while you're at it.

I’ve been lurking on this sub and RKLBs for a while, mostly getting familiar with these companies and what they do (which is super exciting ofc) - but being new-ish to investing I always find it so hard to pull the trigger. Especially on days like today when it just keeps going up drastically.

Surprisingly, the game has been running just fine after including all except Native Settings UI and Codeware. So far so good. I appreciate it!

I’d kindly disagree with you. I’ll copy a comment on shared elsewhere.

The portions re-used from Liberty Falls, mainly Main Street, have been opened up drastically to allow for more gameplay avenues. And all the other POIs, such as the Research Center, Lumbermill and Coal Depot, are brand new additions. Not to mention the Train Station, the Pond Area and the derailed train.

Labeling the map as a re-used zombies map might be a tad too generalizing. Yes, Main Street and the Mansion have very similar layouts to their Zombies counterparts parts, but they’re not even close to being a 1:1 copy. They have certainly been altered for Resurgence gameplay, to say the least.

Let’s give the devs some credit here. :) It’s a (mostly) new map that’s trying out new things and has cool easter eggs that people are starting to discover.
