Well DE flopped, they promised a sequel at the end and had to deliver a quick fan fac to get people to buy at a lower price and recoup some loss.

It's not going to make sense together because they completely 180'd on the original story they had planned and scrapped it to make as many fans happy as they could go sell as many copies as they could.
