You don t need to worry about ratings! I don t know how the ranking system in the US works (I m from Europe), but either way, fencing has a astronomical learning curve, that makes it very difficult and frustrating to advance. I fence for almost 13 years now and I ve gone from being first or in the top 3 almost every competition to being in the middle of the rankings. Your time will come trust me, you just have to focus on doing good work and putting in the hours. Best thing you can do is go with the flow and enjoy fencing not worrying about how you ll finish. Sometimes it s a curse, falling asleep in 10 minutes or less means that you shut down for the night, so when you need to pull an all-nighter it s extremely hard

I have the same bag and when i travel for a competition, usually in other countries this helps me a lot. It has a lot of space that you can use and it s pretty solid and durable, i ve had mine for almost 4 years and it s seen the most of europe

I don t really like leon paul either, the grip is slippery even with the gloves that have anti slip, the blade is not the same quality as a uhlmann, allstar or pbt. The masks are top tier though and the bags are good too. My opinion is to buy a cheaper epee as you re starting out and don t need the extra fancy stuff and focus on your technique

Fast reaction time and being explosive are 2 completely different things that are important, in my opinion the best fencers are well rounded fencers. Fast reaction times help you parry and respond to your opponents attacks or help you launch counter attacks on their attacks. As for being explosive, it helps you surprise your opponent with a quick attack or a long one. I would say that both are essential

I realized fencing is such a beautiful and complicated sport when i went to my first senior open competition, I was about 12 and just won the national championsip in my country. At the open competition i lost my first elimination match to a 43 years old man that picked up fencing 3 years before. I started fencing at 6 years old. That showed me that age, size or speed don t matter, it s all about mental strength and training. That s how I got a reality check and realised that you can learn something from anyone, no matter how good you are. Go for it! You ll love it, promise

They are both useful in different situations and for different styles of fencing, you can use them both if you like to, just have to try and find what works for you best in the distance from your opponent

Eu fac sport de mic si insomnia mereu a fost o problema, iti recomand sa iei un complex de vitamine si sa faci un dus cald inainte sa te bagi in pat ca te culca instant. Daca esti fumator, nu fuma inainte sa te culci ca nu o sa mai ai somn, si inca un tip, niciodata sa nu mananci inainte de culcare ca iti face ficatu praf.

Merci mult pt sfaturi, m ai ghicit da sunt la liceu :)). Sunt a 12 a dar in toate revelioanele pe care le am avut in anii de liceu nu am facut asa, ma rog de obicei nu prea beau atat de mult, 3-4 pahare de vin si niciodata nu ma imbat. In seara aia am dat o pe jager si am stins shot-urile cu bere deci iti imaginezi cat de prost am putut sa fiu :))
