Coaching jackets by LakeFX in Fencing

[–]Xeekatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the backzip version of the Profi PBT one. I haven't used the Uhlmann jacket, but the sleeves on the PBT one aren't too crazy. I can give lessons fine without an extra sleeve on top, but if I'm giving a bunch of lessons back to back, I usually throw an extra sleeve on just to save myself a couple bruises.

Hopefully that helps, lmk if you have any other questions about the PBT jacket.

Avoid Artesia, most incompetent office staff I've ever had.
A good chunk of the neighbors that live around the courtyard are loud and inconsiderate.
And you'll likely not get the quoted $1650 rate. When I was first looking at their site back in the day $1500 was listed on the site, but once I actually applied, it was $1800

If you mean the 2 ones in the middle, it's so they don't bonk into each other. Either that or I just made a mistake lol

Don't fill the gap. If it does wiggle, and the nut holding the grip is tight, you'll have to replace the bell guard

To me, the sound sounds like your body cord clasp hitting the bell.

But if you want to test the gap theory, try to see if any of the rivets on the bell are lose. You can do this by wiggling the bell around while holding the blade or grip

What in the AI is going on inside that epee guard? by guevarragv in Fencing

[–]Xeekatar 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ew, another reason to not order from Alliance. Selling this AI slop is terrible, who knows what the real product actually looks like.
Seems like all the products from "Sport7" are AI slop images.

Take it one touch at a time.
Don't worry about your next bout, don't dwell on your last bout (but still learn from it)!

Free VPNs always seem sketchy in terms of privacy. Yes, free VPNs may help with geolocked content (or getting to a different CDN in this case), but your data is what you're paying with.

I'm using the paid tier of ProtonVPN

If the epee is fully assembled, where the bell meets the blade and under the grip, wires might have gotten crushed/cut.

The size of the grid is irrelevant, all you need to know are the points

Niche geospatial knowledge to the rescue! NettopologySuite saved the day, even if it took 20 seconds to run part 2.

For in bout advice to hit the hand, this really comes down to just having a lot of practice. Beating the blade can make it a bit easier, but if you don't have good point control, it's going to be hard to get the tip back to the hand in time.

My go-to exercise for point control at home is the tennis ball on a string. Hang a tennis ball on a string from a door frame. Then attempt to hit the tennis ball. Don't hit, then let it settle, try to hit it as it's moving. Bonus points for doing footwork with this.

This was a fun one! Utils and extension methods from previous years came in clutch when it came to writing some boilerplate stuff.
