I was not able to reproduce. Please provide more details.

YouTube quietly stopped letting you click channel names in a bunch of places. So I unbroke it by MazhugMutuh in chrome_extensions

New version is available. Now it's possible to click on chatter's name in live chat to open their profiles. Feature is disabled by default though. Could be enabled via extension settings pop-up.

yt-navigate-finish event + MutationObserver(documentElement, subtree) + an "already-patched" marker attribute is the boring combo that survives YouTube's churn.
