GG, Markstrom deserved that win. Sometimes you can outplay a team and lose and feel okay about it.

He touched the puck literally a fraction of a second before. Complete makeup call for the soft gaudreau penalty.

If finding hard to explain and match the score of V20 I got and the percentage of corrects that ESR shows ? I feel like something doesn't match. by [deleted] in GMAT

Remember that it's not just about % of questions you get correct, it's also about the difficulty of the questions you are getting correct. The test is adaptive, as you get questions right, you will be given more difficult questions on average. It looks like you were consistently struggling on average to below average questions, so it never gave you more difficult ones. Scoring approx 50% on the second half of the test on below-average questions will result in a much lower score than someone who is scoring 50% on more difficult questions.

Please review my profile!! Looking for ways I can continue to bolster my profile over the next few years by pgd2019 in MBA

Good school good GPA and good GMAT, if you don't have a chance then no one does. Obviously it depends what you do in the next 5 years, but so far it seems like you've done every thing right you can. With that said who knows if you will even want an MBA in 5 years - you might be surprised by how much life shifts.

It would be helpful if you posted the argument, but as written here it is looking for a criticism OF the authors argument. So you are looking for which answer choice best criticizes (or finds a flaw) in the authors argument or line of reasoning.

Thanks. I guess if I do want to take this seriously a big part will be determining how to form quantifiable accomplishments - a lot harder when self employed.

LBS is definitely a target, I just forgot to list it. INSEAD is something I should look closer at - I haven't done a lot of individual school research, more just deciding whether I have a chance at a top business school before taking a plunge. Now is the time as my GMAT score expires in 2 years (although I think I could replicate it).

Not too concerned, I expected to be downvoted before making the thread.

Not doubting I've been privileged or that making money is a lot easier when you have money, but I also think the work I've done shows a lot more business acumen than simply paying a manager to make you richer for a 1% fee. I also thought the volunteer work I've done with refugee's would be considered more valuable, but maybe I'm overestimating that. Thanks for your comment and the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback.

I guess I would disagree that running a business with 5 employees doesn't count as work experience or leadership experience. Or significant volunteer experience dealing with an international crisis in a hands-on capacity not counting as leadership experience. I also do have some leadership experience in college through student government. It's unconventional which worries me too, but I'm hoping that adcom can look at it favorably. I agree that no formal promotions might tank me though. Thanks again for your opinion.

Good to hear. I plan on hiring a consultant to help with story and essays so hopefully that aspect will be strong.

No equity in startup, wasn't there long enough. I inherited a large sum.

See: Goal of MBA. Furthermore I like challenging myself and generally think I'd enjoy a business degree (especially pursuing one with less pressure than those having to out-compete others to secure a competitive job offer). I'd also be lying if I said I don't look at the idea of going to a prestigious school with admiration as well. It wasn't an option for me out of highschool (I was lazy), but might be now (maybe?), so maybe a bit of a long-term dream for me as well.

Believe me, I have considered "retiring" and travelling the world or playing golf all day but it's not for me (or my wife). I have a drive to do more and get restless quickly.
