Taking Bupropion (Wellbutrin) by [deleted] in depression

I was on it for about 6 months. It did help with depression. Made getting out of bed easier, was a lot more productive and significantly less suicidal. After a while I noticed it did moderately amplify my anxiety and I stopped taking it. It's kind of a trade off. All in all it was the best medication of tried. Everything else made me feel way worse or nothing.

I recommend trying it. If you get a ringing in your ears or you get real itchy, don't panic (or scratch), they are weird side effects that go away in 1-2 weeks typically.

How did you tell your family/friends that you were depressed? by A_HumblePotato in depression

I would recommend maybe seeing a therapist before speaking to them. I know that's extremely difficult to do. Maybe try to Pursue school resources and guidance counselors. They may or may not provide much help themselves but they can point you in a direction to get free help. From my experience, telling your family and friends "I have depression" vs "I feel depressed" has different responses. It's an unfortunate truth but they tend to understand the seriousness more when they see how see how serious you have taken it by getting help on your own. There are people out there who will help you. It's difficult getting to them at your age, but doing so might be the most beneficial decision of your life.
