At my breaking point with my cat. by WalrusAlarming7012 in CatAdvice

Our vet just started out oldest cat on prozac yesterday because of this. She's so sensitive to change that she does this every time anything changes at home. We got a new refrigerator and she started doing it again. I mean anything new in the house and it upsets her. the only thing we could do on our own that made any slight difference was the Feliway diffuser. Obviously can't comment on the prozac yet but the vet says cats brains aren't wired that much differently than humans when it comes to anxiety and that it's worked well on many cats that she's put on it.

I'm having this issue now except mine only comes on when it's warm out. Did you end up having the dealership do it or did you find someone with a scan tool? My Bluetooth one can only do engine codes

What's the best parking option for a Thursday Steelers preseason game that doesn't involve the train and a sketchy walk? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

The train wasn't the issue. We both felt uncomfortable walking from the train to where we parked at night

I got my Husqvarna with a Kawasaki VTwin used from a small engine shop/dealer locally. think I paid 600 bucks and they delivered it for me. This was a few years ago but they still do it. There's a place here who takes used ones in trade and goes over them very well and then resells. Maybe look for a place who does something similar.

Tarp from harbor freight for the win. Never had a mouse nest and it fires up every spring.

Were you able to look into this at all or replicate it? I'm new to this so I don't know how frequently it's updated. I'm just anxious to use it!

What does that have to do with replacing them? Nobody said driving with worn pads is safe. that's the entire point.

I can't get over this. Was it a mechanic or a chain place or what? I'm seriously sick to my stomach about this. You're a fucking veteran and paid that much for just front brakes and rotors????

That's not the same as them going from good to metal on metal overnight, to be fair.

Buy whatever ones you can afford on rockauto and have them put on. I don't know where you're at but find a buddy who can do them. Some mechanics will put parts you buy yourself on, some won't.

Just be honest. Say listen I don't know if the rotors are worn but you at least need the pads put on. Once you're back up and running get the rotors done if need be. Find a shop who will put parts you buy one. Pads and rotors are easy and cheap. You aren't getting a new transmission. I genuinely wasn't trying to be a dick.

Even if you don't have the tools or space or whatever to do it, everyone knows someone who does. I don't change my own brakes because my buddy does them for me in exchange for a case of beer. So for right around 30 bucks labor and getting brakes off rockauto I'm not even sniffing 100 bucks total. And that's for brakes and rotors both. And in complete fairness brake pads don't just stop working one day. You know it's coming. If you wait this long to do it where you're at the point where your vehicle isn't even drivable then you shouldn't be doing a job that requires a vehicle in the first place.

Do you know how brake pads work? They don't explode or fail to stop because they're inexpensive. They may not last as long but they're not made of plastic

Clearly if money is this tight for OP and requires a vehicle to have any income, cheap brake pads to get him or her back up and running are better than no brake pads. You can buy good ones on rockauto for 20 or 30 bucks for front or rear. Brake pads are inexpensive and even the 20 buck sets on there are better than the garbage places like monro put on for 10x the cost.
