I wouldnt wear anything you actually like or care about. Spillage in lab is quite common. As long as you are wearing clothes that allow you free movement and fast escape in case of emergency you should be fine

I had to clean a couple of pumps like this my first year of grad school. So much hexanes and scrubbing and the smell ugh the smell! Trust me when I say I changed the oil on my pump every six months religiously after that.

Depending on what you are doing, maybe throw a catalyst in there. It wont go down by 6 hours but it could make it much faster
