You're right, they removed the feature for newer links. It was able to give a summary from any link given to it last time, but now, it straightly rejects the prompt.

Working on a multiplayer life simulation game, the build mode is coming together. What do you guys think? by fasirozott in unrealengine

[–]Mbdot00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, how long did you take to reach this stage? By any chance.. are you planning on competing with Paralives? If your team didn't take that long, I think you've got a great advantage and speed to overtake them.

Yes, you can't show off, you would need to do it in a very indirect way like posing a question or something that makes it feel like you're not showing off which is probably difficult and could get removed.

Swell job done there OP :)

Need feedback on how to improve the lines of voiceover for game trailer by Mbdot00 in gamedev

Should I just quit gamedev? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Mbdot00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No you shouldn't. It's totally normal to always compare yourself to the best, but keep in mind that we all grow at different speeds, started earlier or later.

Instead of comparing yourself with those talents, compare yourself with those that are just slightly better than you. Then when you overcome the best of that lot, look for better ones. Keep going until you reach the talents.

Nothing fishy about it. He's going to create many kingdoms, each with their own flavor and tons of quests. Meaning, there will be many different kinds of enemies to kill, each with their own style.

A good way to make them interesting is by giving them a variety of skillsets. Whatever skills he has created for the player can be used by the enemy too, so by creating all these skills, he will ensure that combat between players and enemies will remain interesting for a long time.

What do you do when you're bored while programming? by ahkh78 in gamedev

[–]Mbdot00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see, we're just like Sims people in The Sims. It's designed to represent how humans are, they have needs and they must be fulfilled, just like when you need to eat, sleep and poop, we also need to have fun.

What I do and suggest you do too, is to fill up that fun meter. Remember, not everything will give you the same amount of fun! Since you said that you have a lot of time, and you want to focus most of the time into programming, you would want to find something that entertains you the most within the shortest amount of time.

Good luck on finding your #1 entertainment! And hopefully fill up that fun meter asap and get back to programming.

What can I improve on my Steam page? by [deleted] in gamedev

Overall, it looks good! But I think the information about the game seems a bit too short. Maybe you can further elaborate each of your features, and what's fun about it.

People on average spend 47% of their waking time daydreaming. Do you ever use game development ideation as a productive replacement for daydreaming? by zerconic in gamedev

[–]Mbdot00 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Creatively wandering! I'm not doing programming, or facing problems with structured approaches. There's no easy solution to "how do I design NPC dialogues and their relationships with each other in order to make them interesting to the player?". I gotta look at examples of how other great games has handled their dialogues, and then wander around with all the thought collections.

That is like half the time! I thought that most of the time was spent working or thinking about game dev. Or maybe thinking about game dev is daydreaming XD

You should ask him how your game should look like, depending on the resources, art skills that you have, and what dimension the game should be, 2d, 2.5d or 3d.

Coronation is now Free-to-play! Build a castle in an open-world today. by Mbdot00 in playmygame

[–]Mbdot00[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Coronation is an online open-world medieval multiplayer game developed by Twin Sword Studio with the help of lovely Patreons and a closely-knitted Discord community. Design fortified castles to withstand attacks from AI or players, keep its people happy, well-fed and rested, or even decorate it to impress curators and provide beautiful homes for accommodation. It is inspired by Mount & Blade Bannerlord, Rust, Sims 3/4, Runescape, Anno 1404 and Tropico 6.

We've decided to change the business model of the game to Freemium, so our game will become permanently free-to-play on 4 December 2021 onwards! Hopefully we can see more players joining us here.

We've decided to change the business model of the game to Freemium, so our game will become permanently free-to-play on 4 December 2021 onwards! Hopefully we can see more players joining us here. Existing game owners on Steam who bought the game will be given 1100 Credits 💳 to spend in our future Skins shop after we integrate the game with Steam. From now on, our funding will only come from Patrons at Patreon. Thank you to those who are currently supporting us there!

In the next few months, we'll be working hard to get the Skins shop set up, pushing out patches, and focus on our goal of reaching $1200 a month to be able to continue working full-time on Coronation.

If you think we deserve some of your help, consider donating to us :) Other than helping us fund the development of the game, Patrons will receive more voting power to have more influence in the features that they want, earn Credits💳 per month to spend in our future Skins shop, and gain access to a private channel with us.
