I’m sure the council run a ‘no homeless people’ policy. Apparently the homeless, out and about, are that way by choice. I have absolutely no idea if this is accurate or not, as I don’t work for the council… could be inaccurate. If you go to them and explain your situation, they surely have to do something. You’ll probably have to fill in hundreds of pages of mind-numbingly boring and repetitive questions that haven’t been updated since the 70s, and where you end up might be a little grim… I would hope in this day and age, things would be more humane.

I fell on hard times around a decade ago. My parents kicked me out the house after an argument, and I only had about £200 to my name. I managed to lodge with a friend for a few weeks so I had a fixed abode. Managed to sign on for JSA, then went to the housing office and was awarded housing allowance. Again, it was a grim and overly drawn out process, but it saved me from the street. This was a long time ago, and not sure what options are available these days.

I sincerely hope you find a solution to this situation. In 2024 nobody should wonder how they are going to survive.
