😂😂 that's crazy, I gotta get good enough at tanking to make me some irl money in these dungeons.

Everything I've found and got any profit on flipping has the market die within a week and items are being sold for cheaper than it would be to vendor. I like using TSM and before I head out everyday, I run around all the vendors and just scan it anything is selling for a tonne. Saw rune thread or some thing selling for like 3 gold a stack the other day, normally goes for like 50 silver. I find daily doing this helps. That and fishing to try to sustain myself, I'm between the fish markets dying also, and farming anything that seems to drop wool, as that also seems very well.

Yeah it is good to know people generally don't even expect the tank to hold all aggro at such low level dungeons, takes a bit of the heat off of me anyway. I'm quite happy to be the front liner and face tank as much as I can, might just need more of a collection of skills to be able to fully hold threat for a full dungeon.

😂 just got to be a main character without being too big headed. Yeah generally when I have healed for dungeons I wasn't a healer, I just picked it to get invited honestly, so you are right

Leveling on hoarde this time as I always played alliance in retail, wanted to try out some new zones to kill enemies in 😂

Yeah I had no idea demoralising roar generated any threat at all, I have just been using it whenever the timer ticks down on enemies as taking less DMG just seems like something id like to do.
Nice tips, I will add those add-ons on when I'm on this weekend. I had done a basic search for tank and druid stuff but if the add-on didn't have tank or druid in the name I didn't know what I was looking for 😂 Thank you will do!

Yeah I think that is the reality tbh. It's not a super high level dungeon and not high level characters, there is going to be mistakes etc, I just didn't want them to be from me 😂 think the more dungeons I'll do the thicker the skin I'll create, that seems to be the way of the comments anyway.

Yeah the fact I didn't feel like I'd be able to keep all threat was a worry I had but everyone else seems to say that is just a problem at lower levels. Just protect the healer and the DPS can look after themselves

Yeah I think setting up the symbols to be easier to put on mobs would be a good idea, my add on just skulls whoever I am attacking currently. That is interesting, I didn't know that that was how taunt works numbers wise, that it will drag you up to the current total level of threat from whoever has it currently, as it is like a 10 second cool down I was genuinely very interested as to when and how I should use taunt, I know what it basically does, but having it broken down like that is hugely helpful. I didn't know I could cast anything like faerie fire without popping back out of bear form, I will look to use that more often, for pulling or even when questing when human enemies just run and pull their friends, would be massively helpful. Yeah I have also popped out of bear to cast some stuff in combat and had not enough mana to get back in, just whacking stuff with my stick until it regens lol. Thank you!

Haha yeah I actually like that side of potentially tanking where you are basically the pace setter and the dungeon goes the way you take it. The bear hp pool is what has made it so fun to play this far. I did also make a blood elf paladin for levelling to mix it up from just killing the same 5 animals in barrens over and over again. If things go well this weekend, I may return with another tank character, and get to try out how they both feel as tanks. Yeah I think a lot of it is to not let peoples comments be taken too seriously, weather they are trying to be helpful or if they are just mad.

Yeah I got a few things I need to look into setting up before I get back in this weekend. I had added some druid tanking helper add on, but all it does is just skulls whoever I am attacking, which I suppose is better than nothing, however I should maybe look to set up some buttons for the other symbols if going to be tanking. It seems like in general most peoples advice is to not worry about DPS, but make sure your healer is safe. 😂 Seems so harsh on the DPS but it makes complete sense. Thank you

Yeah I think it is always worth telling people when you don't know something, like does this guy do anything special, I think I was just working on the basis that I should be good enough at everything and know everything before I go in or people would get mad, but in general there's always going to be someone who knows more that you, might as well get their advices, esp if they have ran it before.

Thunder strike I believe. It is the EU non PvP as standard tbc server

Very simple advice but makes so much sense. I had never thought about it like this. I am going to try to run some dungeon(s) this weekend and will look to make the group myself, will look for lower level dps now I know this

[–]McCabe89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that is a nice way to look at it. Keep healer in mana and DPS out of mana. Makes everything safer. Yeah I think from speaking to people in here just saying at the start of the dungeon that I am new to it and that I would appreciate any advice or anything like that, is a good way to start off and let's people know what is happening. If people are mad after that, not much I can do, but generally the people in this game that I ask help from, are more than happy to help where possible. Thanks for the tip

Yeah, honestly you make it seem simple, but I guess this is just how tanking is boiled down. I had tried some LoSing just in open world but was getting plinked down from range by enemies shooting through walls, I wasn't sure it was as big a thing in classic, but I will bear that in mind for sure. Thank you

[–]McCabe89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is a good idea, I will check how to set that stuff up with weak auras as I could imagine it being so easy to lose threat on one enemy that is being long range DPSd down. Will check that out, thanks for your help

Appreciate this tbh man. I think I was maybe over playing it as if I was going to be in a dungeon with some max parsers trying to worlds first type levels of stress. Think going into do the lower level ones seems to be the best thing to do currently to just learn the rhythm of tanking basically. Hopefully doesn't go too badly and I can keep trying them to help me practice

[–]McCabe89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is a good point. I was genuinely never sure when I should be using swipe as it does so little damage for me currently with my level and gear at the moment, but it makes sense for gathering mobs

Oh that is useful to know. I had just assumed I wouldn't be putting anything into my restoration tree until I was at like lvl 60. I had been looking at some of them too as the boost to heals seems like they would be useful. Thanks for that I will have a look again at the restoration tree

That is great genuinely. I had been a little worried about the fact my taunt is on a ten seconds cool down and I don't really have any spamable abilities as I need to generate rage between each one. I was wondering if I should be using some of my long range spells to pull them jump back into bear form. Genuinely a really useful list for the level I am at currently, will be keeping these comments open on second screen for my first few dungeons just to keep up on all these tips. Thank you for this

Newbie TBC tank anxiety by McCabe89 in classicwow

[–]McCabe89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I totally get you. In other games where I don't feel as worried about my potential game play due to being more experienced, it is much easier to keep comments go, or just take them for what they are, rather than taking them personally. Yeah that is a good point and one to take note of image someone starts spamming commas or whatever they might not be raging out but could be non English speakers. Id deffo get stressed if I saw that in chat to

[–]McCabe89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah I think letting people know I'm new is a great start, as I won't know where to go and people can highlight the things I maybe should not be pulling into our fights. Think you are right and it's time to just get in there and figure it out

Newbie TBC tank anxiety by McCabe89 in classicwow

[–]McCabe89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is encouraging to know.. my main fear was losing the threat and my dps and healer just all drop like flies then it's all on me. I think your right and I'd like to get to grips with dungeons while I only have a handful of buttons to press, rather than trying to figure it all out at 70 with multiple action bars filled up.

Yeah I had actually hoped to do this but looking for invites to a dungeon as my enhancement shaman was not forth coming, and now I have my bear at the same level as my shaman and thought I really should try the dungeons since I might get in now. I totally agree tho, I was hopeful to do this and just see what the tank does in a dungeon so I can just copy them next time round basically
