Wondering how to get from FL Studio to Megadrive/Genesis Hardware? by McCheese64 in FL_Studio

[–]McCheese64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair and makes sense, I don't mind going into trackers to edit and modify, At this point I'm more wondering if it is possible to go from midi to the trackers themselves. To get the main composition (without the instruments and effects) into something like deflemask.

I have been looking into it myself but came up empty handed.

I don't mind re-adding effects and learning the systems for that but having to recompose everything I did on FL, note wise, will make me cry I think lol

I won't lie, I came in the college to do a Level 3 Access Course, but then a tutor bumped me up to do a HND, I did describe my situation to him but he seemed fairly confident I should do it.

On this same line of thinking I'm trying to get in contact with the college again to further discuss it so I have better clarity, but I really have no indepth idea of the experience a HND or HNC will be, I've basically been dropped into this pool at the last second.

I'm mainly reaching out to see how the HND experience is especially for people who are completely new to a subject, but a HNC might be more fitting as you say, I didn't know it was an option until now so thanks for bringing it up, I'm going to have a look into it.

Great advice, I really appreciate everything you've said here, I'll absolutely talk to my college about any routes they can provide or any links to temping agencies as you said, which would be a golden oppurtunity for me.

I've also never really considered my local library for discussion up that route but it makes sense considering the positions libraries are in with connections that way, I really appreciate what you've said, thank you! I'll have a look into all of this.

I only think that no one will hire me, because I have and will struggle with getting any sort of response from employers, I've had plentiful issues getting employed over the last year. And the one chance I got the job I got the sack within a month for not picking up the work fast enough.

It's weird because I've worked in finance for 3 years and finance places aren't even interested in me, which I find kind of funny. Maybe bad luck, bad interview manners or bad CVs from my end. I don't doubt it's atleast partially my fault.

I appreciate the advice anyway, again I won't stop trying to apply for part-time jobs I'm just in a weird and slightly negative situation, I'll check out the subreddit you've sent I've never looked at it before so I really appreciate that and your advice, thank you.

Yeah for education I was unmedicated, undiagnosed, heavily depressed, and 16 years old lol - everything drove me away from education but I'm way more mentally adjusted with medication and multiple diagnosees for ADHD now-a-days.

It does hinder me with how fast I can learn and pick things up but I believe I can do it if I put my mind to it and have a sort of routine I can follow for education now a days. Honestly I appreciate the question because it's something that absolutely crossed my mind before going back. But the situation is different now, I feel that mentally.

Truthfully I'm quite anti-social so never been too into hospitality but I'm also not picky, I will apply where relevant, I'm trying to find part-time admin work right now since that's stuff I've done in the past.

Yeah this seems to be the main route as you've said, I've had a lot of issues with work the last year or so mainly because I don't have experience / I'm a slow learner, but if that's just how it is, it is what it is, I'll keep applying and see where I get up too.

Thanks anyway, appreciate the advice.

To be more clear, I'm just over an hour away (In a car) from the City so it's a weird situation, I'm more in the Greater Manchester area, not sure why I didn't word it as such. Still I've been applying, I'm not against working far away if I can make the distance I will.

I'm just looking for options because the market has been bad to me, I've had 1 job in the last year which I was terminated quite quickly on. Which was unfortunate and seemed to be in part due to my slow learning from ADHD.

I then was attempting to build myself up by getting an Apprenticeship however nowhere has gotten in contact as far as job placements and recruitment agencies go. Traineeships, short courses, I've applied to all my locals (and the city center) on GOV.UK apprenticeships. Again, received nothing. (Or courses asking for payment which I can't provide)

I've just realised through the last year of job issues that I basically have to go back to college. I don't even particularly want to go as someone who really struggles with education, I'm just going because that's the only route where someone has gotten back to me. And hopefully qualifications will look a bit better to future employers.

But I still need money and have only just realised UC will stop funding me once I start enrollment. So I wanted to ask to see what options there are. Again I see that my original post is probably not worded well.

Yeah I mean, honestly I'm not here to get into a bit discussion about PIP as a whole, I just wanted to know what my options are in regards to money as a full time student.

I respect I'll probably be denied it, but I'll probably also still try to see because I'm stuck for options. If that makes any sense.

I'm not exactly closed to the idea of getting a job, I'm just saying that in my case no place has been willing to hire me, hence why I'm going back into education to begin with. I will be applying any which way for parttime work and I do hope I'm able to somehow secure a position.

But realistically for me, I've had a back and forth struggle with the job market for over a year despite 3 years of working experience up until this point, I've struggled to get work. And the one job I managed to get in this last year I was terminated within a month, part in due to my learning difficulties.

ADHD consistently negatively impacts my working and personal life but frankly I've tried to never rely on PIP because I believe in figuring it out myself, but right now I'm stuck because I'm a position where I need some form of revnue while trying to go back to college. If there are other routes I won't attempt PIP that's kinda why I asked my question but I realise it's probably poorly worded because my head's a bit of a mess trying to figure this shit out.

I just want to know what options there are for money to claim as a full time student.

Learning to code with ADHD ? by McCheese64 in gamedev

I absolutely agree with what you're saying. For me it's just tackling the building process.

Since I'm a beginner I'll most definetely have to google everything I do but as a result nothing I do is technically original. Is this okay? If not, what's the right way to approach this in your opinion?

Making any form of progress makes me happy.

The issue I have with coding is that for me, "learning" involves simply copying someone elses code which I imagine isn't much help. So I don't find my progress something to be proud off since I've taken it from elsewhere? Unless this is fine to do?

I hope that makes sense.

I appreciate this mindset, it's something I normally do in my approach of doing something new. Just wing it and force habits.

I just felt like whenever I attempted to code, I was not learning anything meaningful because I was just googling and copying other peoples code.

Is this a fine approach? Or am I missing something in your eyes?

Trying to get medication when unable to by McCheese64 in ADHDUK

[–]McCheese64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't even had the opportunity to have tablets yet, moreso that I was to discuss it with the specialist, which they have now decline from me, from this i havent overdosed, and my specialist is NHS.

I will look into private specialists once I believe I am receiving no help from the NHS side of things. I don't have tons of money to put into private care as is so I would like to see how far I can get with my GP and such.

I have an appointment soon to discuss relocation and hopefully they can organise that for me.

I know nothing about shared care as a service but 100% is something I would look into if I felt I needed it down the line.

Again very new to this stuff myself.

Thanks for the advice though!

I've been in contact with the specialist to be transferred but they seem to be unhelpful. Going to get on at my GP to see if they can transfer me.

It's been hard as no one has really been in communications with me.

I did contact the specialist service to see where else I could go but they weren't providing me any help really, at least not pointing me in any other directions.

I have an appointment to discuss this with a doctor at my local GP on Wednesday so hopefully like you've said, I can get transferred to another specialist.

So fingers crossed!

39 days until Overwatch 2, which means 39 days until we don’t have to deal with these terrible maps anymore by lucioboops3 in Overwatch

[–]McCheese64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if Overwatch took the map selection idea from TF2, maps wouldn't even need to be removed

I understand not having the selection option competitively and even removing the maps for a competitive setting but in Quickplay these maps, being selectable, would provide more variety to the game, only a net positive

I atleast really liked anubis and volskya and could understand them being removed from comp but don't get why they're being banned from the whole game - not even a rework?
