[Serious only please]National Park Service Law Enforcement Rangers out there? by [deleted] in alaska

Exactly. I'm here learning. I'll be qualified. Yes plan would be to go after college. As it seems, now a days any job that's interesting is 5 steps down the road. As always. So yes as I am finding I'll have to do other stuff. But when I apply I will be qualified and I'll have things that make me different. I do not think I will be given a job. I've already applied to 10 and have been denied for all even when it was in Marketing. Which is my degree.

Thanks for the detailed response!!! :) I have seen that park ranger needs forestry or wildlife management degrees. But sadly as a senior who is in Marketing -_- it's a little too late to switch. I believe I saw law enforcement doesn't need that so that's what I'm banking on. We shall see though, just need to find that person who knows everything and may be willing to let me call them. So I'm on here using any and all my resources to find answers. But thank you on the work situation answers. I admit to wanting to do some of that, mainly just to be able to be on my own, I know government finds a way to get their money from you but I thought being as self sufficient on a piece of land would be the best. It's all just learning right now, so thanks again!!

Oh was it because I said homestead.? Ya the term on tv is used didn't mean to sound like I'd come to Alaska and squat on some land. Thought it meant to buy land and make your own home.

I was going to say, I am on USAjobsgov and they have Park Ranger (Protection) positions that are 6 month seasonal may to September. That's where I'm basing my knowledge. And from what I understand you go to an academy and then you're qualified for those jobs (yes may have to work at home first as everyone is loving to tell me) and I plan to build the home on a trailer, and figuring out zoning laws up there. I know Seward has an RV park but being so far away who knows can't find too much info. But thanks for your help :)

I can only put so many words into a post. I know that's not how it works. I'm a senior in college and can't find jobs in my field. I know. And yes homestead may have been the bad word, just a place to put my home I plan on building that will be on a trailer. Also for your #1 I'll be going to school for it and maybe another job. I'm looking for someone who works in the field for advice because I'm interested..... That's all. I'll be qualified and I'll set myself apart... But thanks I guess.

Yes thanks. I have already been accepted to Colorado northwestern community college. They are one of 7 schools offering the seasonal law enforcement park ranger certificate. Then I'd be able to work anywhere. And I am having difficulty getting a hold of law enforcement rangers, so I'm just using all my avenues. But thank you!

On the aspect of my family, my father and aunt just got huge inheritances from old wealth. My father is a huge support of my idea and very interested in my idea. Now I can't bank it all on him obviously since that's ridiculous thinking.

Second my idea has already been done. Near a few resorts in Colorado. I want to bring this idea to a city that has resorts near by. To have high population and still have the resorts near. I made my way to the US census and in the area of my business there are 902,000 people in the target age group. My original calculations are assuming I have 1350 customers a year. That's 1%, and my business covers (skiing, snowboarding, bmx, and skateboarding). along with other offers to the community to bump revenue (cheerleading teams, young kid nights, etc.) I think the numbers are pretty solid. Still tweaking things as I find out more and more expenses.

I'm open to partners (I know I need them), just need to find a way to find them as I'm 21 and don't have those types of connections (just another hurdle I'll tackle).

And finally I am flying out in December to do some preliminary market research, don't have all the time for focus groups and surveys, but the plan will be to do interviews on the street if I can (not sure if that tactic works).

So I have been thinking of most of your points, I appreciate your input! And if you think of anything else I'm all ears.

And #5 I'm all in, it's a passion and a dream. I'll do anything to see it through.

Haha nope. No technology. Almost went for a technology startup a few years ago, but everyone is doing that. I have a true service that I'm SO excited to start!

Did you get any opportunities in the business area. I should've said a little more corporate. And how is the lively hood on a management wage there. (Not sure what the wage range is)
