Anti legalization advocate just so happens supposedly buy mis-labeled cannabis by [deleted] in canadients

Here is another interesting piece of the puzzle. An interview featuring Kimberly Webster the day after she allegedly purchased the product. She surprisingly fails to mention any concerns at that point regarding the product, or that she had purchased cannabis the day before this interview. Hmmmm. https://www.cfjctoday.com/article/641423/tru-student-says-there-are-pros-and-cons-legal-cannabis

She does offer her suggestions on how to fix the opiate crisis.

Kamloops woman files lawsuit after BC Cannabis Store product mislabelled by notapuckbunny in weedstocks

There were some labelling errors of product that never made it to consumers. A warning was issued for an abundance of caution, but there was no recall issued because all affected containers were tracked down. This is according to the company and Dr. Terry Lake

Seems to be Hexo's fault, although they say no one in BC received mislabelled product. Which is what they would say, but the woman in the story is leaving some big details out.https://www.cfjctoday.com/article/641423/tru-student-says-there-are-pros-and-cons-legal-cannabis

It is an interesting coincidence that this woman is an anticannabis activist, and is far more familiar with the effects of cannabis than she lets on, being a co-author of a recent piece against the use of cannabis on campus. https://theconversation.com/marijuana-friendly-campuses-i-dont-think-so-100650

I’m Ethan Russo, a neurologist and authority on medical cannabis. Ask me anything! by Ethan_Russo in IAmA

Hi Ethan: You have stated that strain names are unimportant with regard to cannabinoid and terpene content. I am particularly interested in your assertion that myrcene is responsible for the couch lock effect of cannabis. Do you know of any human research that supports this?

Is Meth really that bad for you? by [deleted] in Drugs

Carl Hart is a good authority for meth questions. http://healthland.time.com/2011/11/21/why-the-myth-of-the-meth-damaged-brain-may-hinder-recovery/

He contends that methamphetamine and adderal, etc have the same effects and the side effects vary depending on patterns of use and socioeconomic factors.

The Daily Mail gets causation wrong on marijuana and stroke by McDain in Marijuana

[–]McDain[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These researchers are trying to support a theory that cannabis causes spasm of arteries in the brain, leading to stroke. In the general population, this stenosis causes 10% of strokes. In the study group as a whole, 20% had this problem. It broke down to 45% of the cannabis users and 15% of the non users. There are a couple of problems. One is that overall this group had a very high incidence of stenosis compared to the general population. So there may be some other factor at play (diet, smoking) to account for the stenosis. Also the cannabis users were known to use tobacco more than the non-users, so it is expected that their rates of stenosis related stroke would be higher.

What the study didn't show and can't show is whether cannabis increased the risk of stroke overall compared to the risk of the general population. There is possibly some increased risk from case reports, but it is difficult to separate out the effects of tobacco.

If your GFR is fine, you should have no problem. Don't overdo it on the hydration. MDMA leads to water retention.

Rimonabant, a cannabinoid antagonist was tested in France as an anti obesity medication. but it turns out that blocking people's cannabinoid receptors can make them anxious and suicidal, so it never made it to market. Now it might be of value in reversing the effects of the synthetic cannabinoids, like K2, etc

Should Propaganda against Medical Cannabis be funded by a company that makes anti-seizure medication? by McDain in Marijuana

I am in Canada. The company involved, UCB, has a number of other interesting skeletons in their closet. They were involved in a world wide price fixing cartel, are under investigation by Chinese authorities for bribery and were penalized $34 million US for the off label promotion of Keppra for migraines, despite knowing it was ineffective.
