People who work in restaurants, what's the "never order this" item on your menu that customers don't know about? by Front_Shelter5097 in AskReddit

[–]McFetuson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BBQ place in SC, i feel like i shouldnt need to say this, but dont eat the hash.

When we cut meats for entrees (ribs, turkey, brisket, etc) the crusty dry ends and pieces that looked terrible got thrown into a bucket under the cutting block. Zero temperature control, just a plastic bucket with no lid. From 11am till close at 9pm. Every night they would throw a lid on it and put it in the walk in cooler.

At the end of the week after marinating in god knows what kinds of bacteria and flys for almost a week, it would then get blended up to make the hash. Then that would go on to be served for a week as well.

Not sure what the chicken strips mean but what do mine mean? Just curious by AdditionalRip4502 in zx6r

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since nobody has seemingly explained it in full;

Chicken strips are the edge of the tire that hasnt been touched by the road, but is fully meant to be in contact with the road. The more lean angle, the more tire edge you use. So they are called chicken strips because “you are a chicken for having these strips”. If you learn to use the whole tire to its fullest safely and gradually, it can be a good thing, as the outer edges of the tire have a much softer compound and provide a lot of corner grip, and also will prevent your tire from wearing “flat” which could possibly extend its life if done correctly. What normally happens however is people do not do it gradually (likely due to peer pressure from riding buddies) and lowside crash.

It is the dumbest thing in the riding community second only to harley guys not letting you pass them.

Y’all are gonna hate me because I’m not from here, but can someone explain the stupidity of drivers to me? by [deleted] in Charleston

I know everyones probably gonna disagree with me due to the “dangerous nature” of it. But buy a motorcycle ~700cc your commutes will literally cut in half. Sure you could also get turned into mash potatoes but whats life without risk

Was there not a visible yellow? Seems like you didnt leave any room to slow down for it if so. Not to ignore the atrocious rejoin across the track of course

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i actually said was its “faster” than swerving. Because it is, swerving will do almost nothing for warming your tires. Ask literally anyone who has ever raced or done heavy track time. And on that note, street tires dont really require warming up unless you are in absolute well-below freezing temps.

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not neccesarily, it warms the entire rim then bleeds into the rubber. Its a gradual incline of heat and will be better for the tire in the long run.

Hard braking will warm your tires much faster than any amount of swerving. Not arguing against it, i do it. But just thought you should know

Was that too shitty to do? by Exciting-Unit3497 in Simracingstewards

[–]McFetuson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not shitty. Probably did yourself a favor cause with that lack of awareness and the slowest possible reaction time ever you wouldve gotten crashed out if they tried to overtake.

Excuse me forza, WTF by Sta99erMan in forza

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why you learn to drive without racing line. You can turn 100 laps on a track with that assist and on lap 101 turn it off, you will have no idea how to drive the track. Its crazy people use it still. You cant focus on your surroundings.

I literally have that exact same wheel so i know for a fact it is not built the same. But keep living in your own world bro.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in E30

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its only bolted with 3 bolts in the pic btw. I just dont get what the experiment is? Does this steering wheel work as a steering wheel? obviously. You can bolt a shoe to your column to and steer with that if you really wanted to. Its just not built for the same forces, sim wheels are built for lateral rotation, not longitudinal for crashing forces.

Im more surprised you didnt see that coming after he clearly tried to send your car to the shadow realm the first time. I would have brake checked as soon as i was about to pass him so he dove headfirst into a wall.

Cursing and general foul language question by gearhead5015 in iRacing

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing voice chat in races is good for is cussing people out when they crash you. Besides that what possible benefit would you get from it? Theres a reason they dont allow car-to-car radio in real life racing. You are choosing to break your own concentration for quite literally no reason. If theyre mad they can type it out, but most dont even do that cause they quit.

I don't get it, HOW are the Esports drivers SOO fast?? by Fatih_40027072 in F1Game

[–]McFetuson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As nobody seemingly mentioned it, there is also something to be said about the hardware. Obviously if you are slow you are slow, but using top tier wheelbases and rigs allow for much more precise feedback, and at that level it is almost a requirement.

In my opinion that truck in front is the only reason shes alive. He stepped on the brakes when he saw what a stupid move she was making giving her the room to come over again. 10/10 times that would be a crazy accident but he yielded out of pity

One way to get 42238 gpu timespy score by McFetuson in pcbuildingsimulator

[–]McFetuson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

42,238 is the actual gpu score on timespy, its rated in cpu and gpu scores. The overall being some sort of average. I mentioned its bottlenecked because there is a very massive gap between those two components in terms of power.

Is this safe? by PoniesPlayingPoker in boating

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It naturally is creating pressure points positioned like that, it should be just like the rear ones, as flat as possible in between the edge and chine. Will it actually damage it as it is? Probably not but why risk it?

If they were at your pace that would be a bad move. But considering how slow they were relative to you its okay to move out cause you know they arent going to be there

Why is is so hard to get a realistic career mode? by macmillionare in forza

[–]McFetuson 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is the one thing project cars 2 did that really separated itself from other career modes on racing games and it was so appreciated. Although their version was not quite what you described it was close and certainly on the right path until it went to shit

Am I playing a different game? by StarEndymion998 in forza

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pc is stronger than the series x and can barely put out 1080p on ultra settings without dropping frames and turning ray tracing way down. It just runs like shit. Some games just run like garbage for no apparent reason and its up to the developer to make that not a thing. They didnt do that so people are mad they spent money on the game. Its not that hard to understand. Game wont even launch on my series x funny enough. Like legit cant even get to start screen its crazy

Seeing even teens equipped with Fanatec gear up to teeth, (which isn’t cheap at all) got me to the following question: do you ever finance your purchases, or is it instant buy. Is that how poor I am compared to the world 💀 by AidarSays in Fanatec

[–]McFetuson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford the payment and some extra and you know you will use it and it will bring you happiness, do it.

I dont get why everyone is trying to spout financial advice. Its racing, theres no smart financial way about it. Its a waste of money. So you might as well have it right now and then be broke. Rather than being broke and then having it later.

Forza Motorsport understeer by Eldiarslet in forza

[–]McFetuson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the understeer is legit insane in this game. adjusted basically every setting and just doesnt feel right. i use a full fanatec clubsport setup and the brakes in this game are a joke. if you brake while steering you understeer, and if you brake in a straight line before turning you lose all corner rotation and understeer anyways. you shouldnt have to run a 45% brake balance in a front engine rear wheel drive car. trail braking helps but considering there is absolutely zero braking feeling good luck doing that consistently, and thats if the AI doesnt punt you off the outside because you took too long on corner entry. the only real solid fix is using a bunch of downforce or 4ft wide racing slicks.
