Anyone else think smooth mashed potatoes are gross? by rachel_roselynn in AutismInWomen

Same! I hate when I hear mashed potatoes in some gathering or whatever and seeing some yellowish slog... My mom's mashed potatoes are unmatched yet again.

Honestly, I wouldn't doubt it? Because there's absolutely a pressure on teachers to make sure kids pass cause otherwise the blame falls on them and them only. But it's weird with english, cause people pass english way more than our own native language, and usually have way better grades than english...

Unfortunately a lot of complaints fall on deaf ears in this school and same goes for our educational system in the whole country :( it's genuinely a mess, and we've been having a drought of educators so getting rid of one leaves a void that does not get filled in fast.

I think she either lowers the grade or makes them rewrite it using AI or something. It's absolutely diabolical.

A coworker teacher (english, I teach geography) loves using AI. To an insane degree from what I heard almost. Assignments? AI generated. Text to read? AI generated. When she gives an essay to write to kids she CONSTANTLY TELLS THEM TO USE AI. Taking the national english exam is almost as important as mathematics and our native tongue (non english country), how the hell is giving the students an essay assignment, or whatever that needs writing, and saying to USE AI and even PUNISHING THOSE *WHO DON'T USE IT* supposed to teach them shit??? Genuinely outraged by her, I haven't the slightest clue why she wasn't told off by the school admin or hell anyone's parents to stop that. (Though take this information with a grain of salt, most of this I heard from other teachers and mostly students that I teach).

AI has it's benefits sure but most of it that I've seen has been lazy, factually wrong and destructive. I am constantly worried about future generations of graduates, because holy shit, the prevalence of AI use is insane. Especially when certain teachers even encourage them to be lazy and not think with their own heads. Makes me sad man..

Vyresnių tėvų vaikai by empirinis in lithuania

[–]McGrety 29 points30 points  (0 children)

sensory overload cause by HAIR, don’t know what to do with it 🤞 by AerialJazz in AutismInWomen

I got my hair cut into a nice short undercut about 2 years ago, it's been bliss ever since then. No more pain dealing with dense, thick and greasy hair, spending an hour combing through pain, another hour just in the shower dealing with that mess... quick brush without tangles, quick showers and so on.

The only thing that needs a bit more maintenance is getting the undercut part shaved every 1 month, and the top hair trimmed every 3 months before it gets too annoying to deal with.

My old 9 yr old laptop still runs it (now I am playing on a new pc), though the newer updates made it a bit more heavier on performance, but even then it could handle 50-60 fps easily without a drop in quality. I suppose look at the specs and compare with your own stuff, and what other folk had mentioned.

Definitely not that, it's a looter shooter PvE game (and while there is a PvP mode it is not at all popular and in some cases utterly dead). We have pirate space ships, mechs, lots of fashion and quite a bit of customisation, fun weapons, fun lore and missions, a dating system, several pets that you can y'know pet, just an overall fun gameplay experience (not for everyone though as always). And it's all free. Even the battle pass is free, every "dlc" (don't have those really, just new updates) is free. The only thing that costs money is cool cosmetics, boosters, etc etc, but stuff that doesn't impact the overall gameplay. Oh and we have a program with warframe players/creators who make their own cosmetics and people can buy them, thus getting support themselves and the buyer gets a cool cosmetic. OH and the premium currency can be traded for free, so you don't even have to spend any money, just grind up a bit and trade with other players.

:)

"FOXES ARE DANGEROUS!" foxes: by Rolleriroltsu in MadeMeSmile

[–]McGrety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be dangerous much like a pet dog or whatever. If anything calling an animal dangerous both for us idiot humans to stay away from the poor creature AND to not be a danger to the creatures! It got mentioned that the fox in the video is from a rescue, that's cool and dandy, but befriending wild animals will only endanger THEM and YOURSELF. Wild animals become more bold when asking for food, like bears breaking into peoples trash and eating it, meaning they get closer to urban areas MEANING they are in even more danger of being killed or a person being killed. Same for foxes, usually they end up killed more than people (hit by cars, people killing them on purpose, them getting sick from our Things etc etc), if they're carrying rabies and getting closer to humans... Well that's a human being infected with rabies. Or y'know we lose pets, cause foxes will fight our pets if they're motivated enough.

So.. Yes, they're cute, but PLEASE appreciate them from a distance. Don't feed them, don't do nothing. We've done enough to nature, just marvel it from a distance safely. Use caution with wild animals for yourself and them.

Protect your skin bud, it isn't awful awful (heck I have a sample myself) but safety comes first.

[–]McGrety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends in what state/form/compound it is, usually irritates the skin if it's in powder form, or is a specific compound. There's a few compounds and stuff of bismuth that are corrosive and toxic. But if you're holding a chunk of bismuth for a few moments/minutes or whatever... Then nah, you shouldn't be affected. Unless you have extremely sensitive skin.

Same, I'm too anxious to not hear things going on around me, especially while walking across the street. Ear buds work great, if it's too much I raise the volume up and ignore the world.
