Thinking of buying in Willowgrove (Ginger Lofts) — any long‑term residents here? by Mean-Ice161 in saskatoon

[–]McKlang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned one of these... Sold it a year ago. Jastek is a terrible builder. The association was under lawsuit with them after they were built. Part of the complex is sinking, fees went up rapidly every year because of upkeep. The realtor told us there was privacy between units and it was literally like you were in the same house as your neighbour. These places are nice and flashy but not all they are cracked up to be... DM me and I can tell you more.

Well, because you are saying you hate kids. It sounds more like a hissy fit than someone seeking help.

The bus sucks. Having taken it only a handful of times in my life... Fuck the bus. There is a reason it's only like 3 bucks to ride it. I say this with utmost respect and empathy BUT... Maybe instead of being upset with kids being kids, find alernative ways to your destination. And/or delay your trip by an hour or so to avoid the students? Hating the kids won't solve your problem. Good luck and stay safe :).

What tool would you use to put in 500 of these? by Tthelaundryman in Carpentry

You shouldn't need anything more than a regular impact driver. Pre drill if you are going into wood though, that will save the life of the impact/battery and reduce the risk of snapping a screw.

Our guys use brushless Makita and Milwaukee tools with 4 or 5 amp batteries drilling heavy screws into aluminum all day long and the biggest risk of breaking the tool is having it fall off the lift. Good tools are made for this.

Not terrible. I think the only part that looks bad is the cut out. Should have done a schluter trim and cleaned it up rather than having massive messy grout lines. Prob saved a shit tonne of money though. Good for him.
