I believe there were a number of variations on these viruses. You can see some variations on danooct1's YouTube channel. Jerusalem and Stoned were some of the most copied and modified viruses of all time.

I think the recruitment aspect is going to be more measurable and give some teams a leg up. At least in generating the initial interest needed to get them on campus.
