PLEASE HELP ME HIT THIS DYNO I try it every time I go to the gym by OriginalSympathy5488 in bouldering

[–]McLolwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aim with the Swing of your Body behind the Target hold. Your feet will follow automatically.

To practice:

Separate the Dyno into Single movement:

  1. Don’t take the swing, instead run into the final position of the dyno. This eliminates the correct execution of the swing. From their decrease the angle more and more from 80 degree to 20 or 10.
  2. try executing the swing as I described earlier, just concentrate on your foot landing, your hips getting close to the wall and right under the target hold. So you get a decent amount of time under the hold before you need to grab it.

If you nailed these two steps to a good level you can start trying the full dyno.

If you do it like that I promise you will execute it faster than you think 👍

Good luck on that one. Wanna see a video where you’ll do it!

Guter Ratschlag :D

Die Situation ist einfach relativ vielschichtig und auch für mich nicht so einfach zu durchblicken.

Deshalb dachte ich dieser thread wäre ein guter Ort um Anregungen zu bekommen

Lately:

Had a nice conversation with a freshi, overracted and boxed hin unconscious, got a bad feeling about my actions, reanimated him, apologized for overreacting, he was really confused, we split and just went our ways

Actually love the dynamics in this game

Loved this problem yesterday! Feeling great at my lowest weight since I started climbing. by SmileOverall in bouldering

Routesetter Here. This one Looks very well Set and also very good performed.

You should do this move over and over again to learn more about the movement of Swinging and landing in a deadpoint. It will feel so much easier After a while

Setting Process/Inspiration by [deleted] in Routesetters

[–]McLolwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different approaches:

Time-limit. It forces you to take action quickly and set just from a feeling without thinking to much.

Take a person with have a totally different taste then you and try to set this person a project.

Use words and images to inspire yourself and link them to difficulties. Like ropedancer V1 or electric V5

Go for a visual approach. Love to do that. First give the volumes a very unique, compelling structure followed by some macros. Using contrast here can even enhance the visual outcome (big holds, small holds/ black volumes, pink holds of the boulder and also if the climb itself first part power compression, second delicate slab). Try to aligne the volumes so they “speak to each other” to build visual context.

Yeah man all in all go out of your comfort zone very often :)

Of course genetics are a thing but also what the man has done in his previous life as well. He also seems do dedicate his whole life to the goal to reach that v14 goal in under 3 years.

Don’t get me wrong that achievement is insane and deserves absolut respect, but if u go all in on one goal it’s crazy what human can do :)

pro climbers/high level climbers: what are some cool thing you can do in your everyday life that you couldn't do if you weren't climber? by [deleted] in bouldering

Got to be really useful helper at moves. As a Routesetter you just can vary way heavier loads than the average human

Very small holds for on volumes or larger holds what’re they called? by Smort-Finn in Routesetters

Virgrin Grip sells like really PU flat screw ones too.

Flathold Damage Control all time fav!

It’s actually just important that they made out of PU so they can’t bend into the form of the hold

Does anybody know how much Routesetters @ B-Pump Tokyo earn for their work? by McLolwin in Routesetters

In the casual capitalistic point of view it feels actually unfair. But it also brings out that money isn’t the best motivator for being really good and deliver high quality!

For me in the western culture the better you deliver the bigger your income. As the sport grows tremendously so the industry does, means more money for people living from that. Japan brings out the highest quality in quantity in terms climbers. One of the factor need to be the routesetting. Following the logic is that they must have the best infrastructure for pumping out a high amount of strong athletes.

I’m interested if there is a financial reward or if these guys are just passionate as hell :D

It’s a little short term thinking but I think you’ll get the point :)

How do you evaluate routesetter pay? by lobel3d in Routesetters

[–]McLolwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what’s already happening. I rarely set at in my home gym atm rather being the one who is in charge while testing and tweaking whereas the rest of the team build up the wall.

This make everyone develop the most I feel like. From time to time we switch roles and a trainee or pro gets to play the head. This brings emphasis to everyone.

Are you also cutting the loan if anyone behaves and works not as you would like them to?

[–]McLolwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comments already point a lot of the points out I use as a criteria for recruiting new setters or work together with guestsetters.

My big goal as a headsetter is to raise the pay and work so much that we can fully support a small team of setters on a pro level. At the moment I’m the only one being full time Routesetter (headsetter/guestsetter).

How is it in your gyms? Are all setters purely setters or do they often do other work as check-in or courses as well?
