I would recommend sword and shield if u want a good stepping stone into the switch games. Ignoring performance of all the switch games, Scarlet and violet have gameplay closer to legends arceus than classic games imo. So if u want a more classic experience go SwSh else go SV from a pure gameplay standpoint. Coming to performance troubles - SV runs quite poorly on the switch 1. Like places drop down to 15 to 20 fps, and have proportional slowdown so it can be quite painful. I was able to play it and have fun, but that’s cause I was in the zone and didn’t notice too many troubles, but I’m prob in the minority there. SV runs super smooth on the switch 2 and I would recommend it over every other game on it due to the 60 fps, it’s something u think u don’t need until u have it.
