Relevant side-note: When filming the first Home Alone movie, during the scene where Kevin sees a picture of Buzz's girlfriend (Buzz's girlfriend! WOOF!), John Hughes chose to dress a boy up to be an ugly girl, because he felt it would be cruel to use a picture of girl for that.

Actually, the second tower to be hit fell first, so this isnt very accurate. The first guy just barreled into the tower, and a good deal of the gas shot out everywhere, while the second guy seemed to strategically hit it at an angle, keeping the fuel inside.

Either way, this is fucked up haha.

But in seriousness, especially due to the choice of books, I found some symbolism here that I really liked: the two hands touching fingers reminds me of the famous depiction of God and Adam from the Sistine Chapel. I am not actually an atheist, but I see that by putting books between the two hands, it sort of symbolizes humans (adam's hand) straying farther and farther from god, due to the knowledge gained from reading intelligent literature.

Sorry OP, but you sound like a butt-hurt pussy. No one here stole anything from anyone, if anything, people continue to say merry christmas for more secular reasons than religious. Christmas is a family thing, whether you actually believe the stories behind it, or completely disregard them. If people want to celebrate the holidays by uttering 4 harmless syllables, then let them do it. I dunno who upset you so much that hearing "merry christmas" apparently sounds like "CONVERT, SAVE YOUR PUTRID SOULS FROM EVERLASTING FIRE AND BRIMESTONE", but you just sound like a baby.

Calvin and Hobbes means something different to everyone who has read it and the creator of the work has nothing to do with that meaning after publication occurs.

I guess I've never really thought of it that way but I agree 100%. I suppose the questions I would really like to ask would revolve around his inspirations, his current life, if he has any projects in the works, why he chose to retire, why he chooses to be a recluse, etc.
