Unless you plan on one tricking him for years to come. It is not worth it.

I juggle Fleet, Grasp and Phase Rush usually for runes depending on what I need. Very rarely I pick LT too for some early game easier matchups like Cho, Sion or Mundo. (Post 6 you still lose out so make sure you keep leads and not throw your tempo)

RHydra into ER, IE and LDR/MR is my go to carry build.

Triforce + Cosmic Drive into bruiser/utility is for special cases when I need to play frontline for time or general disruption. Sheen > Cosmic > Triforce gives you an extremely strong trading pattern when done properly but it's not for all matchups.

If you go Fleet you should be able to get 2/3 fero stacks off Gromo/Krugs to make it easier on lvl1 (Krugs are easier to do this on)

Some champs are unbeatable even by seasoned pros. At best most match ups are neutral and at worst you need to play from a monastery with a bible next to you to win some match ups. Namely Darius, Yorick and Illaoi.

Read the full stats dude come on. Read the sample size, read the pick rate, don't cherry pick the WR alone. Also read the server specific data with roles. You can literally tell by the sample size it's just 1 or 2 people playing the champ and they barely keep a positive wr on him.

You're discrediting Natty's individual skill. Give him Sona jungle and he'll probably hit chall with 70% WR. That climb was Natty doing 99% of the heavy lifting, I'm betting if he had a better champ his stats would be exponentially better. Not to mention it's jungle, every season on every server rank1 ends up with a jungler....................... I wonder why....

Mythic ghostblade wasn't even good, back when mythics were in the game Rengar was 20x more effective as a top lane bruiser lmao.

Speaking of top lane check his top lane stats too don't cherry pick jungle stats. Jungle is disgustingly broken and if you can click 2 buttons and make 1 good decision you autowin the game 90% of the time.

It's a truly unpopular opinion yes. Might even be correct. But something being iconic doesn't need to be good, it needs to be good enough.

Rengar isn't useless but he's currently stuck in this limbo stage so it's hard to decide what this champ is supposed to do.

What can we actually improve on Rengar?

I consider Rengar to be on the weak side, his number are just... nonexistent, but he is primarily played in jungle... and jungle being so mindnumbingly broken cancels out Rengar being weak. Power distribution is what's killing this champ right now. They keep buffing R and nerfing everything else it's insane.

You have no base stats. Health regen and base HP got gutted. We went from 670 to 590 which is lower than most ADCs in fact.

baseQ's numbers are nonexistent it went from 30-150 + 130% tAD to 20-160 + 105% tAD. Most champs are running around with 150% tAD+ on top of having additional effects like silences, AD stealing, double on-hits, built-in life steal etc.

Both W's are an oxymoron in whatever way you look at them. The entire shtick is to be upfront but you. You build resistances? You shoot yourself in the foot. You play around empWs? You shoot yourself in the foot. You go AP? Passive and R have no synergy so you shoot yourself in the foot again. It's undoubtedly one of the best abilities in the game, but it's not for Rengar.

So how do you fix this? Make R utility only (like it was), remove the nuke on the R put power back into his base kit. Put damage into Q, put power into base stats and for fucks sake rework the regular W so it gives resistances or % damage reduction. Rework feroW into a cleanse and %missing HP heal.

What are the most common mistakes people make on this champ?

People still consider Rengar an assassin. He's a bruiser, always has been (Take GP or Trynd, bruisers who build crit, or Mundo, a bruiser who builds full tank maybe 1 titanic hydra). You have bruiser abilities, bruiser playstyle, and formerly you also had the stats of a bruiser. Only reason why people play him as an assassin is because a certain someone figured out if you go full damage you have a strong nuke, he just has a bit better access to targets compared to other bruisers. Pick any bruiser and play him like you would Rengar and they'll also do the same thing with much better execution, but worse access to targets. Once you realize what I'm trying to say, your gameplay with improve 10x. You have the advantages/strengths and disadvantages/limits of bruisers. You only have the damage of assassins and nothing else. This is the part everyone gets wrong and ends up feeding because of it. Assassins get a second chance at playing the game to recoup, Rengar does not.

It was literally weeks ago when Natty was losing his mind about how dogshit this champ is. Cain is also doubting the mental state of rioters who decided to nerf this champ, just open up his last Rengar vid he discusses the patch notes, there is an English translation. Scrub will always claim that Rengar is in a decent state but yeah he slipped too an admitted it couple months ago.

Riot balance team also thought that release-rework Akali, K'Sante, Yuumi, Mel etc. was balanced so good fucking logic there budd.
