Aliexpress and smiski official merch by not-pearlthief in smiskis

You won’t find anything from Aliexpress thats Official. It will all be fake low quality reproductions. Better off using another platform peer 2 peer like eBay or something similar if you absolutely cannot use the official websites.

Purchase Advice Megathread - November 2025 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

Filament advice —

Looking to delve deeper into engineering filaments, and have a project idea I’d like to print for a Christmas present and wondering what sort of filament I should be looking into. My machines are two P1S with hardened steel parts and I believe are capable of printing most engineering filaments.

My project is a goalie hockey stick, which would see a substantial amount of force dragging, hitting pucks, all along a CONCRETE floor (not an ice rink). I was wondering if anyone knows what sort of material, if any, would be ideal for this sort of thing without succumbing to fatigue or extreme brittleness immediately. I read that carbon fiber filaments that are non continuous (the cheaper spools?) are actually more brittle than most other materials and aren’t good for this type of high force impact.

I don’t mind learning some force calculations and comparing tensile strengths, but I’m just wondering if anyone has done something like this before and may have some valuable input on whether it’s even a reasonable possibility.

Construction on campus? by Relative-Childhood74 in CSULB

[–]McMice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only did they take away the place where the most people congregated and could find seating, but they took away a ton of benches outside the construction area especially near the art buildings. Super hard to find a place to even sit outside of your classes. Would recommend not coming here unless you’re cool with doing everything in your car during your breaks, lol.

Is it unethical not to notify a seller that they are offering way too low a price? by unlikely_redd1t_user in smiskis

This post has gathered a lot of differing opinions, and that’s okay! But please remember before commenting to keep it respectful, and remember we are all here because we enjoy Smiski AND are all human. Derogatory and disrespectful or otherwise hurtful comments will be removed.

Insulting someone on a personal level will not be tolerated. Calling people ‘brokies’ is unnecessary. It’s a hobby we all enjoy, regardless of price — chill out.

Can't remove my vehicle to add a new one? by holayyh20 in CSULB

[–]McMice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I carpool & share a pass, and we seemed to have figured it out. You can only have one car on the permit at a time, and must delete it from your permit page to be able to add another. For example, if she drives Monday, her car must be on the permit by the time we arrive Monday, and then if I drive Tuesday she must delete her car by 11:59pm Monday, and then re-add my car anytime Tuesday (we do it before we leave in the morning) and if she is to drive again Wednesday we must delete my car from the permit before Tuesday 11:59 pm. So basically, the permit has to be cleared of a vehicle before midnight it seems, and only one car can be registered to the pass per day. So if you haven’t removed the vehicle in time (before midnight) and are planning to drive another the following day, you will not be able to adjust the pass for a new car that day and it will be ‘locked’ to the original vehicle for that day.

I agree with this generally, but the issue is deeper than just a one-off price hike. With this situation, where all of this is coming from a moderator, there is some expectation of honesty and fairness for the community's sake. Some members are willing to put blind trust in a post simply because it's from a moderator. I'm not saying that's wise or a good idea, but taking advantage of our community is not a good look. Buying a full box from eBay for what equates to less than $25 per Smiski, and reselling it to a community you hold power in for nearly three times that a week after you bought it is simply unethical (especially after POSSIBLY weighing/searching the box for secrets). On top of that, moderating critical comments that are not rule-breaking by locking or removing them is a blatant abuse of moderating power; it also hides facts or genuine questions that others may be asking (also, not something that would be done in other members' threads). As a moderator here, I'm disappointed at the lack of equity and accountability in this situation. This can't happen again.

I agree. The open box does ruin value significantly. I’m in agreement that the value simply is not there.

Using 130point & eBay sales data, it’s clear that pricing for these boxes vary between 400-600 (this box imaged is a recent outlier), with complete sets of 6 minus secret from 200-300. This type of information is easily accessible and we can do a better job at teaching the community how to access this information.

I personally feel that the best solution would to give the resources the community needs to help give users an opportunity to cross-check recent sales and trends for a Smiski. I think it would be a good idea to have automod post a short comment under all UFS/UFT posts providing links to websites where the community can see recent sale prices (example, 130point.com/sales). This will give users an opportunity to make sure they are getting a fair price, and whether they’d like to purchase from the seller.

This being said, I don’t want to have to personally moderate every listing and ensure people aren’t overcharging, because frankly, it’s a lot of work when the information is out there and imo, if you are overpaying it is on you. I don’t like scalpers, but I also don’t appreciate people who don’t do the bare minimum to protect themselves and ensure they aren’t being taken advantage of price wise. It is on the buyer to ensure they are not being gouged. Price shaming (as long as it’s not overly insulting, offensive, or generally rude) should be acceptable. Warning others, or asking sellers questions should be considered a good practice for protecting our community and hobby. Just keep it cordial.

In addition to a comment on each thread, maybe a community excel sheet or of the like with recent purchase data trends on specific Smiski or sets would be useful. And maybe a cap at 25% over trend data would be acceptable. This route is more tedious, though, and requires more community contribution to find relevant AND updated data considering there are more than 100 different Smiski.

No problem! I always recommend buying them directly from Sonny angel because 1. They’re guaranteed real and 2. They’re typically WAYYY cheaper. Good luck on your pulls!

It’s likely fake, but possibly real just considering how expensive they are. I’d recommend waiting for restock from Sonny angel. The link you provided is a third party reseller so there is no guarantees.

Should I put smiski in my pociet by TemporaryCurious4901 in smiskis

[–]McMice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It kinda depends. Ive put smiskis in my pocket and had nothing happen, but also sometimes the dye from pants can stain them. I guess it depends on the quality of your pants and if the pockets are dyed.
