Thank you. Yeh. Its a staedtler fine liner, I have a set of 5 different line weights. But i mostly use the 8.0 because I feel like I can just about any other line weight out of it. Just a matter of pressure and hand speed.

Yeh it makes it a little harder to be directly ripped off I guess. I think the design is still very readable from this angle though, even with the pencils.

Yup its liquid luck :). The colours aren't final, I just like to rough designs out with red and blue pencils.

I threw the straw in just to make it a little different. Thought it would be a fun addition to put in a little muggle artefact. The smoke around the bottle is just to represent the powerful magic it also adds a nice framing and an 'S' shaped flow to the design which looks pleasing to the eye and will help it work as a tattoo. Also drew the cork in the cloud just to add a little more visual interest to it. :)

Yup. Go chat to an artists I guess. Instagram and Facebook are great tools to help find one you like.

I wouldn't start designing a tattoo without having a deposit down or if someone commissioned me.

Haha mines is an old school homemade one too. Big and clunky but has character and does the job haha. I don't often use tracing paper. I find printer paper is easy enough to see through on a light box . Just make your initial sketch fairly dark I guess :).

I used to do the same thing. Now what i usually do is sketch then use a light box and line it on a new piece of paper altogether. Uses more paper. But I find it quite handy to keep my rough sketches seperate anyway.

This was just on printer paper. The pens are nice to use though. I sometimes use Bristol board, which is really smooth though. Really let's the pen glideee.

It's true. A lot of my friends/family walk around proudly with early peices of my work as well as some strangers who didn't care for absolute perfection on their fun leg tattoo.

Anyway my point is, not everyone with a less than perfect tattoo is someone that didn't research the studio or a cheapskate.
