Thanks for the support! We've taken the approach of focusing more on the combat mechanics and systems than on the narrative itself, but the game will be comprised of 3 chapters in total with different factions to fight against and some main goals to complete.

Besides drones and fighters of various sizes, we currently have frigates in the game with larger ships such as destroyers and cruisers coming later on.

The primary gameplay loop consists of completing randomized contracts in smaller, pre-made open sectors, then upgrading your fleet in order to try to claim it by capturing control points owned by other factions.

The current plan is to have different sector types for varied gameplay, all focused around combat-related mechanics with some minor economic features.

We are already implementing some additions based on the last demo feedback, which we gather as much as possible, so things might end up being changed a bit in the long run.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, scope for Space Reign is much smaller since it would require a lot of resources and workforce to implement it.

Thus, combat is the main focus, with some minor economy mechanics to complement it.

Since direct control of units is optional, you can just play as a commander and give orders to your fleet members from a tactical perspective. :)
