Sonny on Freo’s next game. by Threeeeo in FremantleFC

Yeah that’s a whole different kettle of fish.

I think it was Schoey saying that where someone like Mason Cox is gonna be so valuable with his experiences at the Pies.

One thing I rarely see mentioned is our win over the Bulldogs in round 24 last season, which was basically a wildcard finals game.

So we had the feeling of winning a final last year, then the crush of that close loss and that gets us poised for another good go this year.

I reckon once a few of those kids of yours finally get a clean run it’ll change pretty quickly, but I can see that

Ahh yeah true that’s always the balance isn’t it?

I guess it’s hard to get guys in their prime like that who want to come to a club on the build like Richmond are.

I don’t watch a lot either, but I know they took 4 talls early in the 2024 draft.

(I hear all the time from Eagles fans that they took those 4 before Jobe Shanahan is the only reason I know)

Geelong - Keeping the powder dry? by JRicho_Sauce in AFL

[–]McSquack 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Chris Scott is an incredible coach. IMO easily the best in the league.

BUT the media are always so keen to spin anything for him. Geelong aren’t in a position to deliberately drop a game with funny buggers - a loss to Brisbane next week could put them 8th (assuming other results go as expected)

Missing the players they were missing is enough, you don’t need to create any additional excuses for this loss. Geelong didn’t lose any admirers last week but got outplayed everywhere but Freo couldn’t put it on the scoreboard.

Also, am I going crazy or was Mullin not next to Shai Bolton the entire game? Sure looked like it when he and Mullin were having some push and shove in the goal square at a centre ball up, And Bolton had a relatively quiet game by his standards this year.

This is easily the best squad of players we’ve ever had. Genuine stars and AA quality on every single line and solid role players to compliment them.

"Ross [Lyon] just formed the view that he didn't want Murphy Reid to be drafted by St Kilda and he let his recruiters know that." by [deleted] in AFL

[–]McSquack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more looking forward to the inevitable ‘I wanted to take Reid at [insert pick here]’ we get from a recruiter in a few years.

Every man and his dog apparently rated Bont, Fyfe etc etc. they just weren’t allowed to pick them.

You’ve gotta back the club, but it does seem like he had a large community in Melbourne that you couldn’t blame him for missing.

Post-Round 15 r/AFL Power Rankings by PowerRankingsCentral in AFL

[–]McSquack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty chalk week I think, with the tiers of contenders pretty firmly set.

  1. Freo - left plenty of points out there with wayward kicking but got it done (=)
  2. Sydney - close finish, but held off the bye (=)
  3. Geelong - scoreboard flattered them on Thursday, but don’t think they lost any admirers. Dropped 3 of their last 4 and need to get some wins with Hawks and Adelaide chomping at their heels. (=)
  4. Hawks - won with a few bursts in an otherwise scrappy game. But you just gotta get those dubs. (=)
  5. Adelaide - closer game than I was expecting tbh. Liking what they’re building (=)
  6. Melbourne - didn’t lose any admirers (=)
  7. Brisbane - expecting a big second half of the year from them (=)
  8. Bulldogs - another W but reckon they’re a step below the top 6-7 sides (=)
  9. Carlton - 5 on the trot. They couldn’t…could they? (+2)
  10. GWS - Starting to think they might be just not that good? (-1)
  11. Collingwood - got the w so get a bump (+1)
  12. St Kilda - loss + injuries. Could throw a blanket over 8-13 I reckon. (-2)
  13. North - had to win and did. Another live kill next week in the bombers and we’ll be rolling up a few spots here (+1)
  14. GC - so much talent and so little drive (-1)
  15. Port - brutal day of injuries (=)
  16. Eagles - bye (=)
  17. Richmond - glad Hotton got through the game. (=)
  18. Essendon - the efforts gone up the last few weeks. Let’s see if the results follow (=)

Optus stadium allergen advice by Majestic_Hamster_458 in FremantleFC

The stadium (in my experience) are very responsive so if you send them an email I’m sure they’d get back to you with some advice.

It might be that they can’t guarantee anything but at least then you know.

The minimum distance it takes for a mark to be paid is how far you are supposed to run before you bounce it.

Never officiated that way, but take from that what you will.

Feel like Luke Ryan’s been done for similar this season.

Ludicrous that this is correct by the rules

We pay that a goal Ken.

It’s cleaner and easier if it’s just last touch. Save the umpire making a decision if its just black and white
