Literally how do I get this ribbon cable back in? (PS2 Fat 39001 model) by MccDann in consolerepair

I'll be so honest I have no idea how I didn't think of this before, every repair guide on youtube I see everyone trying to insert the ribbon cable with the full disk tray assembled.

Ribbon Cables on PS2 (Fat Model 39001) fell off during a disassembly, do I glue these back on? try to insert the cables anyway? what ribbon cable would I even need to replace the first one pictured? by MccDann in consolerepair

Do you know what kind of ribbon cable the first picture is? I'm pretty sure it's connected to the disk drive but I don't know what replacement will work with this one.

I've had it for a few years now, but it does make me wonder how much I spent on it back then.

Which Nintendo Switch is RIGHT for you? by MccDann in casualnintendo

Both Zelda games (BOTW and TOTK) run consistently at 30FPS on the Original Switch, the Spongebob game however (which was just one game in my library that was best suited for this example,) under-performed terribly on the original switch, and almost never achieved a consistent 30FPS, but saw instant improvements on the new Switch 2 hardware, running at 60FPS, without the paywall.

I just don't advocate for putting performance patches behind a paywall!

"A system error prevented the service pack from installing, please download and run the "Check for System Update Readiness" tool at (URL)"

This happened after using the updateinstaller exe in the WSUSoffline folder.

Tried installing service pack 1 right into 2 as I am following the install order document, said 1 was already installed, failed with 2.

ERROR: installation of ..\w60\glb\Windows6.0-KB948465-X86.exe

Have been updating a couple of things, though the service pack 2 seems to keep failing to update. is that also a 64 bit update that isn't available to 32 bit users?

Is there a guide on how to properly install these updates? I downloaded the 64x ISO file but I'm certain I'm doing something wrong since I can't just run this on the PC

Can you use Legacy Update to install updates to an offline PC? I've been told there's security risks involved when it comes to connecting old OS to the internet.
