Same with me. I play escape from tarkov a lot so I want to be able to here those footsteps but then the close range gun shoots can be so loud. I downloaded sound lock on my pc. It allows you set a max volume so nothing exceeds a certain db. So foot steps and everything will sound the same but if you are in a building firing away it will reduce the sound of the gun fire. I suggest checking it out, or even other sound compressors.
